A lovely local restaurant that seems to be family-owned. The food is always lovely and the service is nice. I particularly enjoy... the coconut shrimp and the ginger fish. It can be quite busy, so I recommend you reserve in advance if you have the opportunity.I definitely recommend it! Read more

My parents and I visited this Chinese-Mauritian restaurant on a Saturday evening during Labour Day weekend for dinner, and we... were able to get a seat straight away. My dad is Mauritian so we were curious to see how Mauritian food tasted here inMontréal. The owners seated us, served cold water, and took our orders. They were very pleasant individuals who explained thetable d'hôte menu and answered any questions we had regarding the dishes. We were very happy to speak with other Mauritianpeople. The owners were also equally pleasant with all guests that we saw. Please keep in mind that you are allowed to bringyour own alcohol here, which is really handy if you want to save money on having drinks with your meal. I ended up going to theCouche-Tard nearby and buying a couple of beers. In the meantime, we were served appetizers as indicated on the menu. First wasthe chou frit (called gato lissou back home), which are cabbage fritters. It's usually served as a tapas alongside drinks, orfrom street vendors, so I was pleasantly surprised to see it as an appetizer. It was extremely crunchy and tasty, with theperfect amount of salt. It reminded me a lot of my grandmother's cooking, so that should speak to the authenticity. The otherappetizer was a split pea soup (we call it dal), which was also prepared very nicely and tasted quite good. We ended upordering dishes à la carte; the table d'hôte seems like a very good deal, but we weren't too hungry. I ordered the jarretd'agneau with rougaille sauce which had perfect colour and taste. The tomato sauce was not tangy or sweet like other restaurantsthat make tomato dishes, so this sauce was perfectly reflective of Mauritian cuisine. The lamb portion was large and the meatwas extremely tender. Very good overall, 10/10 for that dish. My dad ordered the nouilles sautées à la mauricienne (calledmine frite or mine frire back home) with beef. This is essentially a Chinese-Mauritian version of stir-fried noodles. He really Read more

Food was good. Fried onions for each person and small soup of the day to start was a nice touch. Where it lost a bit was from... the tables being so crowded. They seemed to squeeze in more tables than they should. We were sitting with the backs of ourchairs up against the people behind us. Read more

The food wasn't *amazing*, but for me the overall experience was a well deserved 5 stars. The place is cozy and colorful.... Service is very friendly. Before you even order anything, they bring out a plate of fried cabbage for everybody. You're lucky ifyou get some bread for free nowadays so this is very appreciated. The table d'hôte comes with a fair bit of food, includingsoup, entrees, main plate and dessert. Everything was quite good. I enjoyed the Mauritian style fried noodles, tasty comfortfood. We also appreciate that it is BYOB so you can enjoy a glass of wine without paying a huge premium. All in all, a nicelittle place to discover a cuisine I don't think I've ever seen anywhere else.
