We ate in the lovely breezeway. NOT good! It was SO loud and noisy between the loud music and the traffic sitting at the light... we couldn't talk. Kale salad and butternut squash were awesome! The green beans were boring. The salmon was not the best I'vehad there. We needed a chain saw to get through the dried up "special" bread pudding. Brussel sprouts and Stuffed flounderdinner was good. Service wasn't great but they offered a free dessert which shows they care. I understand things happen and lackof help is pressure. Read more
There were 7 of us that dined for lunch this visit. My first time to this restaurant. Chad, our waiter did a fine job taking... care of all of us. I had the pastrami melt with fries. They put pickles on which is different, but tasty. My Dad had the quichewith lobster bisque soup. Both excellent. Found out one of our group is an author. His book was brought for us to pass aroundand read. It can be found on Amazon. Highly recommend Cafe Venice. Read more
Very disappointed. My wife and I walked into a brand new 1980s decor, furnished in a mishmash of incongruent colors, patterns... and materials. Visually it made no sense. We understand the original location across the street had some charm. The new space iscavernous, cold and austere. Loud pop music played through the ceiling speakers. We almost turned to leave but figured the foodmust be great, ratings being excellent. We should have followed our instincts. My wife ordered grilled romaine salad. Itconsisted of a single head of romaine, warmed briefly on a grill, not grilled. The balsamic dressing was dumped all over it in agoopy mess. It quickly became a sticky, limp pile of lettuce. After a few bites she gave up. I ordered the ?Chef?s Special? subsandwich. It consisted of a huge amount of stacked meats between a too small, over baked roll. Impossible to eat due to it?ssize and rock hard roll, I had to chew off some of the meat and cheese from the edges before it fell apart. We were shocked bythe experience. The chef has apparently no concept for balance and presentation. Cannot recommend Cafe Venice and will notreturn. Read more
We hosted an event for our team here and had a fantastic experience! The food was delicious and the service could not have been... better. We love Venice in May and have eaten here two years in a row. Hubby got Pot Au Feu (French pot roast) again and I got the crab... stuffed flounder. Both very good. The kitchen and waitress were great about accommodating some dietary restrictions. Read more
Had an awesome dinner or server was fantastic. Was able to make reservations for 4 at 6 pm. The bar area had live music and we... sat in the other room and the music was nice, wasn?t too loud. Nice wine selection, we tried a sip before we ordered the wholebottle. Huge menu. Read more
Fantastic food!! Fantastic service!! Remek was amazing!! He had great recommendations and honored our choices. Lobster Flatbread... and Pot Roast dinner was amazing!! The Rombauer Chardonnay was the perfect choice to take us from the appetizer through the maincourse onto the Creme Brulé. Remek will make you the best espresso ever!! (made with love?) Add a Sambuca or take it a stepbeyond and have a Black Sambuca neat! We thoroughly enjoyed our experience!! ????? Read more
This is the perfect place for lunch on W Venice Ave! The Turkey Sandwich was massive, but delicious, especially with the herbed... mayo. I love the fact that you can upgrade your side to a side salad as well; it won't be just any old piece of iceberg layingaround either! I had the refreshing and flavorful Fresh Spinach Salad as my side and loved everything about it, from the goatcheese to the orange vinaigrette. Thank you, Cafe Venice, for a wonderful meal!
