We stayed in downtown LA then moved to Venice for a couple days. Decided to stay near the beach at Hotel Erwin, a boutique... hotel, as I prefer boutique over big box chain hotels. First, let me say that many places near the beach are noisy, busy, smelllike weed, but you're near the beach so you decide whats most important to you. We were on the 3rd floor (Room 318) and facedanother building - one that was under construction- and I have to say, NOT noisy at all. Maybe it was luck or that we weren'tright under the rooftop bar, but everyone I was with slept well and barely had any noise! The room was clean and had the tiniestbalcony that when we went out, we could view the ocean! That was a nice surprise. The hotel was close to everything-restaurants, shops, and parking lots. We walked/biked along the beach and there were plenty of bars (besides the one on theroof) to go to. Also plenty of restaurants. The only thing that wasn't my favorite was the bathroom "barn" sliding door. If youare sharing the room with friends, the door doesn't seal completely. Then the person at the sink outside can see in. Obviouslyif you're sharing the room, you trust the other people so its not a big deal but we joked about turning the TV up so the personin the bathroom could have "privacy" peeing LOL. Staff in the hotel were friendly and nice so there are no complaints. Therooftop bar was nice, but some of the other "guests" at the bar, which is open to non-hotel guests were a little snobby. When wegot off our floor after visiting the roof deck, one of the other people on the elevator said out loud: "I can't believe peopleactually stay here!" Great location and the staff are amazing. They have free bikes, beach towels etc. on request. I personally don’t have an issue... with noise but if you do ask for a suite on the south side between floors 2-5. Go to Great White across the street for breakfastand dinner. Read more
Valet parking offered but it was high, they reduced it for me after feedback. The roof top view is AMAZING!! I would suggest... fans to keep it cool but the umbrellas are good also. The new chicken tenders were great and good lavender drinks.The ambianceand setting is gorgeous with the orange decor. Great location and proximity to the beach! Minutes from everything, LA,Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, Malibu and the Pacific Palisades. Glad we had a fridge, 2 robes, balcony and partialocean view. Nice room decor, loved the showers and all of the toiletries provided. Loved it. We stayed 3 nights, 4 ppl. Beds are very comfortable. Staff was fantastic. The wonderful woman who brought our towels... & other things to the room was amazing! The valet, also amazing. Venice isn’t a quiet escape. It’s a beautiful vibe & Erwinis right in the middle of it. Included in photo section is a view from our room & what is a 3 min walk from the room~ oceanwater ???? The front desk, valets, and house keeping were all super friendly, kind, and professional. The valet parking with an EV... charger was fantastic. The hotel is in an excellent location with several really good coffee shops, bars, and restaurantswithin walking distance. Great place to stay in the heart of funky and eclectic Venice. Read more
We had food on the rooftop bar with friends, the view is amazing and food is tasty. Only negative thing is we were rushed out... when they were closing up, we had just ordered a drink. They shouldn’t serve if you can’t stay. The views are worth a visitalone Read more
This is a great hotel, in a perfect location. Couldn't be closer to the beach and restaurants. Staff were great, very welcoming.... The area around the hotel is very noisy, but you could hardly hear anything once the balcony door is closed. Not sure what thepeople complaining about noise expect from a hotel in this location! Staff were awesome, really helpful and friendly. We loved the complementary bikes, helped us see the area easily and enjoy the... bike path to Santa Monica. The only thing I would say is the room and particularly the bathroom was quite small, especially for4 people (2 queen room). Great location to see Venice and access the boardwalk. Read more
