An overlooked gem of a bar and grill in Vandalia. First time there this afternoon. Wide selection of menu items at reasonable... prices. My wife had the terryaki garlic wings and raved about them. Though I didn't order the walleye sandwich, I wish I wouldhave. Next trip for sure. The pork tenderloin was very good. The crinkle cut fries were served piping hot, always a plus in mybook! They have a massive beer list with many micro brews available. Staff is extremely friendly and very helpful, offering menuand beer suggestions. Two outdoor patio sections were very clean. I visited Bunkers for the first time this past week. They had an impressive selection of beers, the atmosphere was lively, and... the food was excellent. My waitress, Savanna, recommended the special of the week. It was delicious and the portion was a goodvalue. She was so sweet! I couldn't help but notice that she stayed busy by taking empty trays/drinks from all the tables in therestaurant and even swept the floors. Other servers sat on their phones and even sat down and talked to guests while Savannacontinued to work. She did a great job balancing time to check on my table and seemed to really enjoy her job. Having been aserver myself in the past, I was impressed with her work ethic. She made me feel welcomed and special. I will definitely be backand be sure to ask for her, specifically! Read more
Always have wonderful service from Ashley and Matt. Will return on their shifts every time. The other female bartender needs to... be present when she works. Couldn?t get a beer or food for too long. Likes to ?be busy?. I think her names Megan. Read more
Great tavern food. Went saturday morning just after they opened and service was quick. Wasn't noisy at all, tho it's atmosphere... was sports barish. Safe part of town, well lit, clean tidy bathrooms. Read more
Great selection of beer, great food, good atmosphere. If only they had the staff to offer quicker service. I sometimes wait 15... or 20 minutes before I can order a drink refill at the table. Also, while the food is usually excellent, there are often timesit?s not. I was actually told by the cook himself that the reason the bbq beef sandwich I ordered was dry and had no bbq wasbecause the beef soaked it all up. Read more
Not the place it was years ago. Service at this point has declined, but could be standard staffing issues many places face... right now. The food quality has gone down as well. The chili was just poorly made. Sandwiches not magestic anymore. And thewings just no longer something to come here for as the wing quality has declined and sauces no longer memorable. Not sure whathappened to what was a solid 4 star hang out and food place. It's now a 1 or 2 star place to not eat and to not hang out.Even the table set up and cleanliness is at a point of disaster. Not bad. No actual beer menu, you have to stare down the electronic menus hanging on the walls above tables. The food is... mediocre. Service was okay. Once we got our food that was about it. It does get crowded with lack of parking and long waittimes. Read more
