Reviews for Hazel Dell Skippers in Vancouver, WA
I usually love this Skippers for fast, easy, inexpensive and yummy fish and chips and chowder. We went there last night and... they've changed their fish. It was in perfect triangle shapes and it was almost inedible because of the salt. The chowderwasn't any better and also extremely salty. Unless they go back to their original recipes, save your money and go buy frozenfish and chips with a can of Campbells clam chowder. It'll taste better and cost less. Read more
Nothing like is use to be. The fish is no longer fish but fish sticks. The portions aren't what they use to be but they charge... more. Their sauces aren't the same as they use to be and they keep most of them behind the counter and serve in portions ratherthan self serve. They now have two order stations but only one door for entering or exiting which is inconvenient since i wasthe only person there but all the parking spots were full.. odd. Everything is over cooked. No more all you can eatfish/chips/chowder. I'm hoping all of this is only this location. If I ever get the urge, and find another location, I mightgive it a shot. But, this very well could be the last time I eat at skippers Read more
Absolutely amazing staff, tasty/delicious food and speedy service. I would highly recommend anyone who loves seafood to eat... here. Read more
Its been a long while since we last visited. Liked it better this time. The eating area felt much cleaner this time. We ate in... arriving half hour before closing. We ordered the shrimp, clams and fish platter. It was nicely cooked. Not overdone at all. It was all good and there was more than enough food for the price. They were kept busy with orders going out the service windowso we must not be the only ones liking it. We will get there again sometime soon. Read more
TL;DR: Horrible Food. Seeing the good review, we decided to go to the place but was really disappointed. The fish in the fish... and chips didn't seem like very well cooked, the coleslaw was barely edible. We ordered chowder as well, the smell of which mademe puke. The 1 extra star I have added is for their fast service and cheap rates. We went there at around 5 for dine-in. Read more
I'd thought that all Skippers had gone out of business a long long time ago, so I was very excited (and surprised!) when by... happenstance I discovered a few weeks ago that this location existed! The food was just as delicious as I'd remembered it beingyears ago, the service was fast and friendly. The menu is predominantly fried seafood, so if you're looking for lighter dishesthis might not be your thing. Personally I will gladly make the 30-minute drive up to this restaurant again, to me the food andnostalgia is worth it. For $10 I ordered the Captains Platter which came with fish, shrimp and clams, plus fries and coleslaw. Read more
Cheap and delicious seafood with fast service! Their fish and chips are extremely tasty, even better than a lot of more... expensive places in the area. Their fries can get a little big soggy underneath the fish oil but still good. I also really liketheir clam chowder, full of flavor and spice, with some decent chunks of clam inside. After the pandemic, they got a servicewindow which was an efficient process. They forgot to give me a spoon with my soup last time I ordered, but otherwise I can'tcomplain about any of my experiences here! Read more
One of the last remaining Skippers. Service was friendly and fast, they even gave me extra fish as a courtesy. English style... batter you have to ask for and they sometimes don't have it. Food tastes just how I remember it from the old Skippers, bringsback memories. Coleslaw and chowder are pretty good too. Read more
