This restaurant serves excellent Indian Cuisine at reasonable prices. Their food is very traditionally spicy, so caution should... be used in ordering. The very spicy is very hot---to hot for most Washingtonian's tolerances. For those who love spicy, it isterrific. Their service is excellent beyond belief. My spouse received a meal she felt was too spicy. As soon as the serverfound out, she insisted on replacing the meal inn spite of our protest that it wasn't necessary. She went beyond replacing thedish with a milder one, she blamed herself (she wasn't responsible) and offered additional rice and desert, all withoutadditional charge. One would be hard pressed to find such wonderful service anyplace beyond Costco. If you want an excellentIndian dining experience at a reasonable price and terrific service, this is such a restaurant. Read more

We stopped at this place for Dinner on our way back to Seattle from a weekend trip to Portland. The restaurant has a pleasant... decor. Service was prompt and courteous. We ordered a few snack items and then some dinner items. Our items were served withouta long wait. The servings were big enough and we had to do some take-out. They prepared each items with the right spice level,as we had a few kids in our group. A perfect place for a good Indian Dinner. We'll definitely be back. Read more

Great treating authentic Indian food and amazing service. They have a wide variety of menu items to choose from for appetizers... to entree dishes and desserts. The entree dishes are served with rice and portion sizes are quite good. They also have someIndian grocery items available here although they might be a little on the expensive side compared to regular Indian grocerystores. All in all, it's a great place for some delicious Indian food and the owner provides very courteous service and anenjoyable experience. 10/10 would recommend. Read more

First of all they have some of the most beautiful Indian art pieces I've seen in an establishment. I was very impressed with the... service as well...I asked for authentic Indian chai which wasn't on the menu and they custom made us some and served it withcute little clay cups. Already going above and beyond before we had even ordered our food. Warning though it gets quite busy, especially when everyone is ordering to go. The next thing we ordered was samosas with mint chutney and emlee chutney... Thename of the organization is absolutely applicable as we absolutely fell in love with their dipping chutneys. We also orderedspicy jalapeno naan which was so delicious we couldn't even wait for our main dishes. I ordered chicken khorma and shrimpmasala. The dishes were served at the perfect temperature and the spiciness which we were able to choose were applicable to whatwe both love to eat. I've eaten a lot of Indian food in my life but their chicken khorma and naan and chutney is to die for.Absolutely recommend...might be top 5 for me. Read more

In the heart of India’s Sikh community, bordering Pakistan you find the state of Punjab. You can experience some of the food... in Southern Washington. Despite not having an affinity towards food that leans towards the spicier side, Chutneys brings variousspices and flavors that challenges curry enthusiasts alike. The family style own restaurant greets you with a warmth smile. Wewere lucky to be the first customers there, so our customer service experience felt personal and welcoming. It didn’t takelong for our order to arrive and it was one hell of a presentation. The aroma of the various currys made you believe for aminute that you were walking in the streets of Punjab. Of course nothing beats the experience of walking in the streets ofnorthern Punjab and experiencing the culture for yourself. Overall our meals meet the cuisine expectations but could haveincrease the portion size for the price we paid. I read the other reviews for this place and so far they have been positive. Theowner takes the time to read and improve their business based on customer experiences whether be good or bad. So essentiallyyour experience eating here is an improvement from various customers before. Nevertheless Chutney will give you a taste ofPunjab. The rest is up to you to see. So if you are in the mood for home style Indian food, Chutneys is the place to go.Definitely give them a chance. Read more

Not impressed. First off I read in another review they used frozen carrots, which is absolutely true, even though the owner... tried to deny it. You can easily tell the difference, fresh carrots have a snap all the way up until they turn to mush. Whilefrozen even if nicely cooked have this weird mushy texture. Now aside from the owner lying, the food was just not good, thebuttered chicken tasted terrible, the biryani was over seasoned and the mint chutney which I paid 4$ separate for was not evenhalf filled. Naan was too thin, and though it was cooked well, it had a weird after taste. The prices were just as bad as therest, grossly overpriced for what you pay. There is other Indian restaurants in Vancouver that deserve the price they ask, thisone is a scam. Read more
