Great service, a little slow towards the end but they were understandably busy! We showed at 5pm when they opened without a... reservation and were able to get seats for 1.5hrs, which was perfect. I loved the monkfish liver and the mochi skewer. But I'drecommend against the regular beef and pork intestines unless you just want the experience, because they were somewhat chewycooked this way. ???????we made a reservation right at opening on a Saturday night, at 5pm, and got seated right away. This joint is pretty tiny,... but you don’t need much space to enjoy delicious skewered meats and izakaya food. We ordered multiple skewers, multiplesides, and some delicious gyoza that felt like a main dish with its grandeur (teppan gyoza is served on a sizzling plate glazedwith teriyaki after deep fry). My favorite skewer is the mé maki, which is thin sliced pork belly wrapped around garlicscapes, salted and grilled until the pork belly is lightly charred, with a delicious smoke flavor from the fat drilling oncharcoal- perfectly tender garlic scapes. Close second would be the sea salt chicken hearts- nothing seats up like a deliciouschicken heart- perfect marbling and texture. The only thing that would make it better is dry brining the hearts- salt a dayahead and the moisture balance will allow for a deeper crispness the next day. This may be a tradition, either way what theyserve is magnificent and delicious. The chicken skin sounded delicious, and I would order that next time- I did order thehorumon, pork intestine, which wasn’t as crispy as I expected from previous experiences with pork intestine- but it was stilldelicious, with a texture similar to chewier pork belly. That reminds me- the pork belly skewer is probably tied with secondplace for my favorite skewer- so crispy and delicious. Order the jellyfish salad! Taste profile similar to seaweed salad sincethe sauce is identical- sesame, mirin, soy. Super delicious. Can’t wait to go back. Pro tip- if you can’t get into the oneon denman, there’s another one further south, I think on main st. Don’t not go! Also for those who go for the first time, the little cup on the side is the repository for your used skewers! Put them in there, not the pen. I did that. ???? Read more

Just a warning- their yakitoris are really good so be prepared to shell out extra $$$. Order something you would normally not... eat, you're in for a treat. Read more

Ordered several things including The Zakkushi set, ebimayo ( shrimp in cocktail sauce), kaiso (marinated seaweed) and chicken... gizzards. The ebimayo and kaiso were great but, unfortunately the Zakkushi set was extremely disappointing. I found this placeeasily very expensive but i suppose that’s what you get for yakitori. The customer service was great but unfortunately giventhe Zakkushi was one of their most popular dishes I was very disappointed. Read more

Fantastic skewers and delicious cocktails. The vibe here is great, reminiscent of an actual bustling Japanese Izakaya in... late-night Tokyo. Just a bit pricy but the quality of food and service reflects that. Read more

After a long day at work dealing sh—, it’s THE place to have a beer with a friend and rant it out! Their Yakitoris are... great, chicken skins is a must-order, beef tongues and… and maybe I should keep some to myself in case they ran out. Again. Read more
