Reviews for Union Latino's food in Vancouver, BC

Starting a Latin restaurant in Canada is never easy and while there is a lot of room for improvement I leave this review in... hopes things can improve and as constructive criticism.\n\nWe went there for lunch on a Saturday and the place was not full butthe service was slow, the male server that greeted us was very nice, welcoming and we were off to a good start.\n\nWe orderedjugo de maracuyá, a side of plantains, ajiaco and fish dish and the food was OK. There is so much potential though and couldhave been amazing just needs a little extra attention and care from the servers.\nThe juice was very very watery and lost itsauthentic taste (the girl also seemed annoyed when we ordered it). The food was good but not great, it is really small thingsthat can be so easily fixed, I really hope they can be and the restaurant is succesful because it\'s great to have a Colombianrestaurant downtown.\n\nI think the main thing is the service, we didn\'t get any ají or sauces and noone came by to check ifwe wanted our drinks refilled or to ask if we needed togo containers or to see if we wanted to pay, it was radio silence. Alsothings that can be easily improved and we are 100% rooting for improvements and will go back to give it another chance! Read more

A taste of Colombia! The servers were all really kind and friendly. Food was absolutely amazing. The empanadas were delicious,... and the bandeja paisa was incredibly filling and tasty. And the music was wonderful! It’s so nice to have an authenticColombian restaurant in Vancouver. We’ll definitely be coming back! Read more

Incredible food and even better hospitality. As a fellow Colombian far from home, they truly make you feel like you are in... Colombia. They even threw in a complementary chocorramo cake for my birthday!\n\nOverall, great music, great food and greatpeople: a perfect representation of Colombia. Read more

Not really good Colombian food. I’m from Colombia and the food in this restaurant is not very tasty. Also overprice for the... quality of food.\nIt is a shame as it’s the only Colombian restaurant in Vancouver. That is the reason that I have givenseveral chances to this restaurant. But it’s not worth it. Read more

Amazing meal. The coconut rice may have been the best rice I\'ve ever had. The fried plantain and fish was delicious too. Good... sized portion and left me wanting nothing. Gracias por la comida ???? Read more

We had a good experience and are super happy to have an authentic Colombian restaurant in downtown! The empanadas were great and... very reasonably priced. We ordered a bandeja paisa that had very generous portions and was very good. My only complaint was thatthey served us in take out containers, despite it being a sit-down restaurant. Eating the bandeja paisa with plastic cutlery wasextremely hard and took away some of the enjoyment of eating out. Last but not least, I was disappointed to see them usingstyrofoam containers. I really hope to see them adopting more environmentally friendly practices as we\'d love to come to thisplace on a regular basis. Congrats on the successful opening! Read more
