I went here as part of a conference event. So we only took up the 2nd floor. We didn't use the 1st floor so this review isn't... really 100% accurate lol. The 2nd floor was quite private and we were hidden from the 1st floor sight though we could see them.It was nice. The only thing is that it's too dark! I couldn't see anyone or anything. Heck, I couldn't even see my foodLOL. The staff there were amazing. Dave the bartender was so nice and even gave a complimentary drink when he knew it was my1st time drinking. The other staff were amazing. They looked stressed, especially that one guy clearing the tables and givingfood. But they were all very polite. The food was very good. They had mac and cheese, sliders, falafel?, Pizza, and some frenchlooking appetizers. It was pretty salty but nonetheless good. They even had food warmers which was a nice touch. When you come later at night there's quite a lineup and you have to pay cover. I feel that I'm past that partying age and paying... cover, but I came here with some friends. The layout is very dark and narrow. If you don't want to lose your hearing I suggestyou bring earplugs! All surfaces are wet and sticky! The Portside is definitely not a place to have a conversation lol. Myfriends and I were constantly yelling and looking for each other. The dance floor is a bit tight for sure, so watch out forpeople spilling drinks on you. Not sure about the DJ the night I came but he kept replaying a few songs. Overall it was fine,but not for me. What a great place! We had so much fun here. Fun maritime decor, great tunes, but the best part was our bartender. Carter is a... mixologist extraordinaire! He made the yummiest drinks and made us feel so welcomed and accepted. Thanks, Carter! We?ll be backfor sure :) Read more
WORST EXPERIENCE! This is our first time in Vancouver and we were all so excited to enjoy the night out at this bar/dancing... spot. We paid cover and excitedly went inside. My partner then tried to buy us some drinks at the bar and was double charged. Wetried asking the bartender about it and were met with so much rudeness and aggressiveness - she admitted to the over chargeafter we tried to reason with her. She was clearly drunk or using something because the way she escalating and flipped us offwhen it was her mistake was absolutely abnormal. I felt so bad for my partner as he was just trying to get things dealt withcalmly and politely but her attacking us just ruined the night for us all. We talked to the manager and security guards becauseshe was trying to kick us out despite everything being in her error and aggression. Basically we were told just stay, take yourextra beers, don?t talk to her anymore. The security guard agreed because she is the bar manager nothing more really would bedone. Definitely never coming back here! I hope she doesn?t verbally assault her customers regularly. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Theplace itself is cool they just need to do something about the bar manager. Terrible terrible service. The bar tender/bar manager accidently charged us for four beers instead of two. When we went to... confront her she was having a drink herself with another customer. When we tried to explain what had happened she went up to aneleven really quickly. She gave us two more beers (even though we didn't want more beer) but that wasn't all. She called usliars and flipped us off and asked us to leave bar area. This happens within 10 minutes of entering. After a lengthy wait andtalk with the general manager there was nothing they could do. I no longer felt welcomed and it robbed the vibe of the wholeevening. Not going back ever. Thanks to Chelsea and Nathan for the great time at the Portside Pub. Ok?more Chelsea than Nathan, but as a team the experience... was great. During a busy Jazzberry Ram concert, Chelsea managed to single handedly serve the entire top floor, and most of thebottom, without a hiccup. Nicely done. We?ll be back for beers again soon! Read more
They changed their menu and the food here is really decent for bar food. It is stuff that compliments the drinks very well and I... would definitely recommend the bulgogi chicken sliders, everything was very flavourful and tasty. The live music that they playon weekends is nice too, I like how there is a top and bottom floor, plus the pool table. Read more
