First up... This amazing little dumpling stand sits upstairs in a semi-deserted shopping mall, and while that doesn't seem very... atmospheric, it is the perfect background for what had to be some of the best dumplings I've had in the northern hemisphere.Food is served to plastic food court tables outside the shop as light streams in through the skylights above a derelict lookingconcourse. This little shop is about 2meters square and run by an old Chinese lady who creates and serves, you've guessed it, 9different types of dumpling. Dumplings are dough-colour coded as to their contents leading to an intrigue game of guess thecode system when eating the dumpling tasting plate. Dumplings are available in normal or spicy sauce (not that spicy butdelicious) that is packed with flavour and coats your mouth with flavours you don't want to lose. The dumplings are plump andsucculent and packed with delicious ingredients ranging from pork and chive to squid and seafood. I highly recommend this place. It is a dumpling experience reminiscent of china's new territories shopping malls, and to be honest, I'd say just as good as anydumpling I had in Hong Kong. Excellent! Haven't been in this building for the long time. It was pretty cool when it was new, in the 90's, but looks like it didn't... succeed. Still has a butcher and a wine-shop, but the rest just looks like luggage storage... kinda sad. Fortunately we werejust out wandering around, and took a look upstairs only to find this unbelievable dumpling shop. It in not much bigger that afood truck, one woman working in it, surrounded by food awards. Best Chinese, Best Dumplings, etc, etc. And food delivery guyscoming every 2 minutes. We were only an hour away from our lunch reso, so we just wanted a small bite... We had thescallop/fish in squid ink wrapper. One of the best dumplings I have ever had! Perfectly thin wrapper, delicious vinegar basedsauce, super savory filling. A Masterpiece! Being a dumpling guy, I seek them out wherever I go, so was shocked that I hadnever heard of this place. If you are reading this, you should go. It is fantastic. Next trip to Vancouver, it is the firstplace I will go. Maybe the second place too. Read more

The food is all of higher quality and fair price. I ordered the scallop and fish dumpling. The dumpling is extremely good, hand... made, thin dough wrap with big fillings which is extremely umami. The fried vegetable fritter is very crispy and light, welldone! The various vegetable salad all taste exactly like what they are in China. Flavorful and fresh. Strongly recommend! Read more

We ordered the chive dumpling with chilli oil. They told us it would be a 15 minute wait. The chilli oil isn't really spicy so I... definitely would recommend getting it with it. The skin is the perfect thickness (not too thick) and nice and chewy. The fillingis juicy and had SO MUCH CHIVES. If you like chives, you should try this. Overall - This would make for a great snack. Thisplace is definitely another hidden gem. The price isn't cheap but not bad to try it once Read more

I happened upon this place by accident as a friend exploring the city pulled us into the small mall here. Was very pleasantly... surprised that this restaurant had many plant based options. The food was delicious, and each type of dumpling came with fouroptions (i.e cooked in soup, or with chili oil). It was definitely the busiest restaurant in the food service area, and so theline moved a bit slow, but the food was made in decent time and the employee was friendly. I will definitely return for morenoodles and dumplings soon. Read more

I am elated to have found this place. This hidden gem located in the unassuming Robson Market serves up homemade, innovative... dumplings at an amazing price! The quality and taste makes me feel so at home, and the fact that I can afford it as a universitystudent makes it the perfect spot. I had the spicy sampler platter with all nine types of dumplings, and it?s such a coolexperience trying each one with its unique colors and flavors! This place is the real deal. On another note, the chef asked mewhich dumplings were my favorite after I thanked him. He cares about his craft, and these are the kinds of people that make thefood world go round. Thanks for a wonderful meal! Read more
