Reviews for Neptune Chinese Kitchen in Vancouver, BC
Good dumplings, good beans, and good fried rice. Standard every day Chinese food! Reason it gets 3 stars is because it defi felt... a bit expensive for a run-in-the-mill sort of an ambience and restaurant Read more
The worst service. Dirty plates and bottles all over the table, nobody cleans it. Ordered three dishes and the two came 35 mins... later meaning other two guests was just sitting there watching the one eating for more than half an hour. Couldn?t even ask forspoon or fork. Later we found the dishes came later were just warm, not hot. They were just lying there. Afterwards wecomplained about the service, the old lady got so angry, telling us: don?t come again! She threw the changes onto the table.Wow. Please show some respect to the cash. Don?t throw cash and don?t say unpleasant words over the lips. Read more
Good morning or afternoon wherever you are. We have a story to share to inform friends, family and tourists about one of our... favorite restaurants. It's close to home and usually good customer service. My husband and I went for dinner on Wednesday. As wewere leaving we noticed one of customers had their dog sitting in the booth, on the seat and they were feeding it right off theplate. We were totally surprised as this obviously against public health by-laws.We had already asked the waitress what thepolicy is having dogs inside the restaurant and she said they don't allow it but clearly she hadn't told these customers toremove their dog , I believe she didn't want to confront them. On our way out I informed the customer they were breaking the lawby having their dog inside the restaurant and that the restaurant could be fined or even closed if public health authoritiesfound out. The lady claimed it was ok because her poodle doesn't cause allergies, which is not even the point. Finally thewaitress came over and spoke to the customer who finally got up and took her dog outside. We are pet lovers and we have our ownpets but we would never take them inside a restaurant. What do you guys think? Read more
Food and service were very good. Love their hot sauce! However, we are not sure how clean was the place. Floor was sticky!... Especially near washrooms Read more
Not bad. Was reading all these reviews and was getting a bit anxious. Kinda went in with this anticipation of rudeness but was... pleasantly surprised... The lady was good to talk with, was helpful and no nonsense. No secret tip was on the bill. Food was asexpected.. got crispy noods with pork, seaweed egg soup. Asked for chili oil and was given XO sauce - that was a score! Onlycomplaint is that the sauce on the noods was quite gloopy and not flavourful enough (read: it might need more msg...). All inall not bad, not great, but good for what it is. Will go again if in the area and needed Cantonese yums. Read more
Picked up the other day shrimp spring rolls and man I was surprised. The spring rolls were stuffed with shrimps, crunchy and... just all in all delicious. Didn?t try anything else but if everything is done on that level then this place is highlyunderrated. Will surely try them again. Read more
A exotic Chinese restaurant in downtown Vancouver. Very convenient location and down to earth prices. The seatings are not fancy... but the food is good. Dishes are not big, but lots of options. They also serves all day DimShum. Read more
I came here one morning after searching quality Cantonese food all night the day before. I hesitated because the rating did not... seem high, but out of desperation I decided to try it out. I was seated immediately and the staff were beyond friendly. Iordered the Shrimp Wanton soup and it came to my table after less than 10 mins. The wonton is clearly handmade, not the storebought frozen stuff. The taste was fresh. The soup is clear and full of flavor, and the taste is authentically Cantonese, nottoo salty or oily like some of the other Americanized Chinese restaurants. I want to post this review so Chinese people whovisit Vancouver wouldn?t be deterred from the unfair rating. The service is top notch and down to earth. Customers were allChinese. The stuff speak perfect Chinese too. I don?t know what not to like and they certainly deserve a much better rating thanwhat they have. For people who are not that familiar with authentic Chinese food, I highly encourage you to keep your mind openor go for your typical Americanized restaurants instead of give cheap ratings out of your ignorance.
