Pretty good sushi and great service!
We came here because it was close and convenient while we were at the beach. Big mistake. The food was overpriced. We waited... over 30 min for sushi? there was 2 other people there and they already had food. The food also was mediocre at best... not worththe price. The yam was still hard and had a weird taste. I?m Japanese. This is not sushi at all. The restaurant looks real Japanese sushi restaurant but taste doesn?t deserve for... money. Im sorry to say this. Sushi is not just sliced fish on the rice. Wasabi is not just green paste. There is a reason we putginger next to sushi. They don?t understand any of sushi. There are always reasons we use wasabi, vinegar and ginger. Nowadaysyou can learn anything from Internet especially about sushi, but they didn?t. It doesn?t matter who make sushi but I want themto understand what is sushi at least. Read more
If you're in the area, definitely check out Kibune sushi. It's a small restaurant, so a reservation is recommended. Opted for... the Chef's choice sushi (pictured in the photo). It was amazing, so we ordered a couple more nigiri from the daily specialsmenu, which were great too. We'll definitely be back! Read more
Amazing food & experience at Kibune! We just managed to squeeze in at the bar early in the evening without a reservation and... were very well taken care of by the chef. You pay for quality product, each nigiri selection on our Chef?s Choice plate wastremendously fresh with a lot of care put into each individual piece. Well it was an extremely pleasant surprise to visit a Japanese restaurant in Vancouver that still adheres to the zen like... culture of watching your sushi master create your dishes! I've found my new favourite sushi place, yay. Granted the place hasbeen around for 30 years and is still voted by locals as top notch. The space is zen, the food is gorgeous (none of that newage cream cheese and avocado nonsense on everything), the chef absolutely lovely and the service great. The food is so good! Theseafood are fresh, like ocean fresh. The presentation just beautiful. Almost reverent in the placing of the dishes. Worth everypenny. Love it love it love it. Read more
