Family-run coffee shop doing their best to keep doors open near campus. Restaurants have come and go all around UBC, but Blenz... has diligently served the community even before I was in first year back in 2017. The owners really try to go above and beyond.From remembering recurring customers, asking about their day, delivering the order straight to their tables, and coming up toyou and apologizing for any offense. The coffee and banana bread is really nice and there is plenty of space to study and soakin a cup of coffee. The wifi is great. All they ask for you is to pay a little something if you decide to stay, study, usetheir wifi. After all, they are a coffee shop, not a "Free studying spot" (there's plenty of those on campus). We?re all tryingto survive another day, hope we all can be mindful of that and be more understanding of those that work and serve ourcommunities! I would hate to see them gone. God bless ?? Extremely disappointed in the customer service and management at this location. My friend experienced the rudest interaction... with a worker (of South Asian descent, we did not get her name). When confronted, she said she did not have time to "babysit"us, and dismissed further communication in the most condescending manner. The manager, Aman, was a bit more attentive to ourconcern in the language she had used, but did not further establish this with the employee and defended her verbal harassmentby highlighting the way his business must run. This employee needs to learn how to talk to a customer, no matter their age, andtreat them as a human being. Read more

Love my visits to the neighbourhood café. Staff is extremely friendly.

The food and drinks here are alright but it?s the management that deserves this rating. I have visited the store three times... and every time I have heard the male manager repeat ?we are losing customers? to staff members in condescending manner. I thinkthat this is completely unnecessarily to be repeating and also disrupts the customer?s overall experience. I have also heardaround that this man is the reason that many employees are quitting and cannot stand the daily treatment while working here dueto his passive aggressive attitude. Additional, the interior of the place looks like it?s falling apart, especially the chairsthat are peeling off the seats. I hope that some changes can be made to this store or else not many customers (or employees)will enjoy their experience or ever want to come back !! Read more

As a returning customer, I have been visiting this place for over 6 years and this is my first time leaving a review (sadly it?s... about an unpleasant experience). I came in , made my order and waited for my drink. Another girl came in after me and she tookmy drink right after. I told the staff immediately about this and they just let me keep waiting for them to make another one,while other orders are coming. I was on my way to an appointment and it?s not like I have the whole day to just ?wait? ; and Ididn?t even hear a simple ?sorry ? - maybe to them these were just small mistakes that happen way too often, which is verydisappointing. I truly hope they can pay attention to and do better in customer service and staff training. Otherwise I don?tthink this place worth revisiting. Read more
