Reviews for Big 2 Cafe in Vancouver, BC
Food is very good. I ordered fried sticky rice and the consistency of the rice is just right. Milk tea is also of good quality.
Big 2 Cafe is your generic Hong Kong style restaurant. The food is tasty and there are plenty of dishes to choose from. The... aspect of the restaurant that I like the most is how clean the restaurant looks everytime we go there. Personally, I like theirJapanese dishes. It's more of a fusion between Hong Kong and Japanese style of dishes. Read more
The food isn't bad here. It's good enough to have regular customers, and there are no real problems with it. Presentation of the... Western food is a lot nicer though, but it is also a lot more expensive than you would expect. The overall cuieine leans moretowards South East Asia types than anything else and the prices are some dollars more than comparable places. Service isn't bad,it is just slow. There seems to be a total of two staff for the entire store, so waits are to be expected. They also onlyaccept cash (not even debit) which is unfortunate, but kind of expected for a place with so little staff. Read more
I had been this restaurant before but have not visited them after they moved to this new location. This afternoon, I ordered... their new Cart Noodle, the portion is big and taste is good. I have the pork cartilage and beef brisket and the meat is sotender. The cart noodle combo also comes with a hot milk tea as well. My daughter ordered the curry chicken and she loves it somuch. Definitely, we will come back again. Read more
When I arrived, there was no one in the restaurant. Me and my party were seated at the table but after waiting for 5 minutes, no... one came to give us the menu or any condiments. I had to look for our server which was this girl who could speak Mandarin onlyand I had to ask her to give us the eating utensils and the tea. When we were ordering, there was still no one in the restaurantat that point. So one of the menu items comes with a soup and I told our waitress I wanted the soup. But she goes away and notto be seen for awhile until another customer enters the restaurant. At that point, there were more and more people coming inand they started to order their food which was fine and all. But one of the tables who came later than us had soup delivered totheir table before our table even though we ordered first and that other table arrived after we had finish ordering. Then whenwe asked for the soup again, we were told that they were sold out! This kind of service is unacceptable. They offered nothing tomake up for the soup and told us they are sorry for our unfortunate situation but there was nothing they could do. It's not likethey can take the soup from the other table and give it to us since those customers have already started enjoying theirsupposed-to-be-ours soup. Another thing that really made me upset was the fact that the other tables who had come later thanus got their food first before we did. I mean it was my first time here so I am not a regular. But to be treated with such ahuge discrepancy from the other customers really made me upset. Won't be coming back and I recommend you don't come here eitherunless you're a regular who get treated much more favourably than the non-regular customers. And this is just my two cents, but train your employees properly in how to be a passable server/waitress that at least doesn't just show they care only aboutthe tips. Read more
