Best coffee I had in Vancouver but horrible service. It was my first time in there and the guy in the front was visibly annoyed... when I was asking about what type of breads they had. He was being annoyed with the clients and quite rude with the barista guy(the talk man) that was just trying to help. I ended up not getting any bread. It?s fresh bread heaven. Our family shops here regularly and it is consistently delicious. We love it all, especially the epi.... It rarely makes it home as we break pieces off and devour them on the trip home. You could poke someone?s eye out with thatdelicious pointed loaf. Crunchy on the outside and soft and yielding in the inside. The pizza (when they have it) is delicioustoo. A wonderful small business with friendly staff. I want to like this bakery and have gone quite a few times to see if I can change my mind, but it's unfortunately the same every... single time. This last time was definitely the last. The food is ok, but it's the service which is extremely bad. The guybehind the counter is super rude and it's clear that he does not want to be there. Called to put some bread on hold-they advised they take orders on their website, but as first time trying them, would hold a... loaf and some bagels. Thanks! Bought the Peasant loaf with whole wheat as wanted a break from all the recent sourdough loavesfrom other bakeries. Also got bagels-on that Sunday they had a 6 for 5 deal. *This bakery will slice the bread for you. Thebread and bagels had great smell. The Peasant had a very nice whole wheat taste. They were on the lighter side of what I'veeaten. I like both light and denser breads, but if you prefer denser, please call them to ask about their other breads.
