It is a small restaurant, tucked away between the buildings. My kids were desperate for bubble waffles and ordered strawberry... and original waffles. They were absolutely fantastic! Bubble teas were great too, although watermellon yakult was bit too sweetfor our liking. Service was great. Only downsides were not related to the food itself. Ordered two mixed jello for takeout. The photo is what I got. (The photo was taken outside of the Cafe and guaranteed... authenticity.) I always order mixed jello with coconut jelly subbing boba pearls, and I have been ordering with requests for atleast a semester now. This is the first time I got this ridiculous amount and inquired immediately. They first said because Isubbed with coconut jelly. Once I said I've ordered like this for so long for both Uber delivery and takeout, they respondedthat the amount has always been like this, and they even gave me more pudding or coffee jelly or something (thankyou?????). Very upset. I know dairy products are increasing in prices, but this is obviously not the reason. Read more
Fresh watermelon juice bubble tea with pearls. What a soon to be summer treat! This was the most delicious summer reminiscent... drink I have had in a long time. this drink accompanied with crispy, well seasoned and succulent chicken nuggets made for amemorable afternoon. When I first came across this restaurant I thought many things. "This looks like a cafe," I thought. "It must be a good place... for coffee and Bubble tea". The reviews said that some Taiwanese lady (possibly the owner?) was very nice and was superaccommodating. When I actually came in to eat, I was completely out off guard. This place was in fact indeed a Taiwaneserestaurant! An actual authentic and traditional one too!! And the lady that the reviews spoke of actually waited our table. Shereally was nice and took the time to explain the menu. When we needed extra utensils she grabbed them without hesitation. Theonly thing I didn't like was how small and pricey of the menu. Even the appetizers menu was more expensive than some restaurantsI've been to. The cheapest item was $9!! That's almost 10 bucks for a few pieces of vegetable. We were disappointed with the portions here. Definitely not good value for your money. Ordered a chicken with black bean sauce... and vegetarian tofu which cost me $10.95 and $12.45 respectively. I'd be fine paying that if they were regular sized plates --but these were the size of appetizers! See the attached photos. I placed a bowl beside the chicken dish for scale. And it didn'teven come with rice. We also ordered a Fish & Vegetable Noodle. That was a normal portion and cost $11.95 so that's better butstill on the high side in my opinion but that's probably understandable being located in Kerrisdale. In the end we paid over$40 (incl tax and tip) for lunch and we were still hungry. The service was good. The food tasted ok though the tofu dish was abit too salty. *If* I were to come back (but I don't intend to) I would stick to the noodle soup menu items. It has better valuecompared to the dishes. Standard Taiwanese bbt food. We had lunch here and ordered popcorn chicken combo and spicy beef brisket combo. It's not a bad... choice as a quick stop for food. Read more
Average Taiwanese food. All dishes are relatively healthy (less salty and greasy). Good for casual meal.
