Speaking as a Haitian from the east coast who grew up eating Haitian food my whole life, this the best Haitian food I?ve eaten... on the west coast, and is just as good as food from back home in NYC, CT or Fl. The legume was 10/10, portions are massive, couldn?t even finish. Read more

They have a creative way of putting spices together to give your taste buds a journey they will never forget. Holy F! Mind blowingly delicious. Located upstairs in the Valley Swap Meet which is an unassuming place that I would have never... entered if not by a recommendation from a Haitian friend of mine. Well worth it my friends and family run. We ordered thelegume (like a crab stew), which was so savory and had so much depth in flavor. Djon djon rice was perfectly textured andsticky. Fried pork was delicious and if you like pickled vegetables, the onions that come with it are pickled and compliment thepork so well. Plantains & pikliz yummy mmm. Nothing greasy, just fresh and delightful. Seriously, if you want to go on a littlevacation in your mouth, and step away into another dimension.. dine here. No frills & dope music vibes. Many compliments to thechef. Read more
Food used to be good last year in their old location at the mall, but ever since they moved to the newer spot, they?ve been... serving re-heated/ microwaved their yesterday?s food. The meats are not freshly cooked; they are dried and SALTYYYY and had somehot tomato sauce on them to cover the dryness, not typical of Haitians. We use Pikliz ( spicy cold slaw) to serve our food. Ifeel like I was served all the different parts of some turkeys, such as liver, part of a wing, and so on (some unrecognizedturkey parts, NOT AS ADVERTISED ON THEIR MENU- None looked like turkey legs). In Miami, turkey plate means turkeys? legs cutinto pieces, no other parts of the turkey unless you?re cooking for home. Bathroom was a total mess, and the rice (the onlyfreshly made???? apart from the plantains) has a couple beans and a little too oily. A good example of the foods areyesterday?s: when I asked for several things from the menu, the server/cashier said we ran out of them. They are done for theday. So I presume nothing is made fresh unless they make it for the day and serve it until it?s done whenever, even if thatmeans the next couple days. No a la carte or make to order!!! Disappointed ?? ***Update: NO, I NEVER MENTIONED TO YOUR CASHIERTHAT I WAS CRAVING FOR HAITIAN FOOD. I travel for work, so I don?t live in California. While out on work duties, I always try mybest to support my community and eat the staple haitian or Caribbean foods. If food is good, I?d say it, just like I mentionedabout the plantains and the rice. I haven?t gone back and not planning on it since my review 7 months ago. I?ve been to Gigi?sCafe, the cuban cafe and bakery - they have good Caribbean food there and closer to Westin downtown LA, where I usuallystay. ***Sir, I will not drop down to your level talking about my bathroom, and I would suggest you work on your approach tocriticism. There are others who made the same remarks about yesterday?s food being served. We just tell it like it is. *** Read more
