A very clean and neat joint that serves good Sri Lankan food. The food was excellent and so was the service. We had the 'Deviled... Chicken fried rice' and 'Fried Chicken Kottu Rotti' and also their dessert 'Watalappan'. Just we need to be careful on the spice level as Sri Lankan cuisine is very spicy, so better to start off in 'Medium Spicy' and upgrade if required. We did go all theway to 'Sri Lankan Spicy' and we could handle it. I will be definitely visiting again. Read more
We had String hopper pilaf and Grilled chicken combo. The chicken dish was okay but they used plenty of MSG on both dishes and... too much on the String hopper pilaf. It’s just another restaurant food and tastes nowhere near authentic traditional cuisine.Spices represent a significant part of Sri Lankan relishes. In fact, with having all the Ceylon spices consisting of plenty ofrich-flavored seasonings, I don’t see a reason for using tons of MSG. Read more
The BEST Sri Lankan food outside of Sri Lanka. It's amazing food in general too (even when one doesn't know about Sri Lankan... cuisine). I'm a vegetarian and I had so many options. But the meat eaters are in for an even more mind blowing treat! To top itoff, the staff is so genuinely kind, nice and caring. Really well portioned and perfect in every way food. Read more

Went to this beautiful hidden gem Sri Lankan restaurant Kurrypinch for lunch, which provided all authentic flavors and... tastes. Kottu roti( Godamba otherwise called kothu parotta) with fried chicken is an amalgamation of chopped roti withvegetables and cubed fried chicken is zesty with the right elements of all spices. Rice with Chicken curry is like a platterkind of Indian style thali. Along with the rice, the vegetable curries on the side are unique and distinct to me. Beetroot currydazzled with redness is soft and tasty. The strings of bean curry glazed with oil all over are like a pickled flavor when mixedwith rice. The sauteed green aka kale salad, but when you have it with rice, it gave you the good feeling of mixed greens inyour mouth with coconut flavor, as it has some coconut in it. Jack fruit curry, a gravy curry has all those tastes needed toperfectly have it with rice or roti. Pol rotti , a coconut mixed flour is something different, probably the first time like aroti with chicken curry. The pumpkin curry is like oh man! It's been ages that I had pumpkin curry and a bite of It made me gointo thoughts. When was the last time that I had pumpkin curry? The food rumination still went on until I completed but stillthe memory didn't come back. Daal is good but for me, other ones conquered this one. Fried rice with egg is like street-sidefried rice. As soon as you take a spoon full of rice, the spices along with the egg gave more taste to the mouth. Finally, thelunch ended with dessert, Sri Lankan sweet, Watalappan ; creamy coconut egg custard with jaggery. We ordered egg fried rice butinstead of egg they served vegetarian, the chef came specially to our table to owe sorry and later brought back egg fried ricethough we resisted no need to bring as we liked the fried rice even without egg. We see rare instances of these chefs being somodest and giving additional curries that I liked as usually, we hear it's a additional charge if we order e Read more
Kurrypinch - used to be in Van Nuys -now in a location with nice ambiance. Finally, a nice Sri Lankan restaurant! Open and airy.... There is parking outback and meter parking in front of restaurant. Went for dinner with friends and place was empty except forone other table. ( Rhey have just moved and it was a Tuesday) All menus are accessed with your phone. They do need some paperones for those that cannot use that technology. There is nice overhead music ( would be nice to hear some occasional Baila) anda screen that shows beautiful pics of the island of Sri Lanka. The food was good. The string hopper pilau was Tasty and colorful( mine was too spicy for me) and I had it with Shrimp curry. Others had theirs with chicken curry, calamari ( cuttlefish) curryand fish curry. We had individual servings of watalapam for dessert. It was a little cold but good and sweet. The wait staff wasOK - still learning to be attentive but very nice. They close at 8 and we were actually late leaving but they were very nice anddid not rush us. Prices are very reasonable and I will definitely go again. Thanks for making such a nice space with great SriLankan food. Nice people and good food! Read more
