If you?re looking for a local restaurant that serves fresh, hearty food, this is the place for you. My wife and I both had... different soups (chicken lemon rice and Spicy Tia Chicken). The vegetables with both our soups were cooked to perfection and thethe flavor was excellent. Plus both soups came with a hearty dinner roll. First off service is amazing, some of the best in valpo. But the food is nothing special especially for the price. Rolls are dry... and nothing great. Soup is good but always feels like it?s missing something. But the turkey pesto sandwich was pretty good. Iwould keep coming back, but the price of just getting soup and a drink is way too much. Experienced it my first time last week at the recommendation of a friend. Had the split pea soup and a serving of bread. Bread... was much better than expected and was not just a piece of Wonderbread or whatever passes for bread at most restaurants. Splitpea soup was definitely split pea soup but could have used some seasoning (but it was nothing that a little salt and peppercouldn't fix). It was delicious when paired with the bread. The decor inside is a little lifeless but I enjoyed the giant wallof spoons. I would go back and try more soups and some of their sandwiches, which my friend ordered and recommended to me. Read more
