Reviews for Chengdu House Chinese Restaurant in Valley Village, CA
We did takeout a few months ago. The food here is terrible. The chicken dumplings tasted like cardboard and were tough to chew.... They might of been a few days old. They literally made me so sick to my stomach. Will never dine here again. Read more
First time there. Delicious and unpretentious. Pleasant staff. Specializes in Sechuan but has Cantonese as well. Sichuan Garlic... Pork, Sechuan Ma-Po Tofu and Kung pao Chicken. Very good and we'll be back. Read more
Food was okay, just too salty for my taste. I enjoyed the Mooshoo Chicken.
Food was delicious. Exactly what we expected. We've been wanting to try this place for a while. So many delicious items on the... menu. We had Orange Chicken, a sampler with pork dumplings and shrimp dim sum War Won Ton Soup and Garlic Beef. We will be backfor more! Read more
By far my favorite contest place in the valley. The chili pod chicken is well worth coming here by itself, don't get it to go... since it isn't great via take out so make sure you eat in for that. All the typical Chinese food options are there which workwell for takeout. Overall, it's a bright spot compared to the usual Chinese food around here. Read more
I had a great experience here. Went here with my sister and we had a great lunch. I?m so happy I had actually lo mein and not... some cheap chow mein. Anyway we ordered the Lunch Combo lo mein with beef, chicken, and shrimp and the orange chicken lunchspecial served with egg rolls and salads(Sichuan pictured). The food arrived fast, was hot, and tasted amazing. I loved how hugethe plate was and that the orange chicken had orange peels in it. Excellent customer service and 5 stars! Read more
This place is so good, so cheap, so clean, so nice, and so yummy. What a wonderful addition in the valley! I had potatoes, which... were interestingly sour due to vinegar. Very different from other ways to prepare it. Twice cooked pork used pork belly and verythick scallions. My favorite was the orange chicken that was crispy, "orangy," and perfectly sweet. The best orange chickenI've had anywhere. The beef rolls were quite delicious as well. They were big, and the beef inside was tender and beefy. 4greens stir fry was my kids' favorite. Spinach, bok choy, string beans, and broccoli in minced garlic sauce was done well sothat the veggies were still crunchy but still soft. Nice job! The Northern spicy soup with noodles was spicy enough to warm meup in the 50 degree, rainy weather. Cucumber salad was crunchy, garlic-y, and just spicy enough. Overall, this place is a giftfrom heaven. Thank God it's finally here! Addendum: just had Mongolian beef, which was excellent although it was a bit saltierthan how I normally like. Mapo tofu was excellent, nice spices and flavors, including Beijing peppercorn which numbed my mouth.Good stuff! Read more
All dishes were severed in disposable plates. Taste was not good. The beef we ordered had bad spoiled taste and we had to send... it back. Read more
