I was a little unsure about coming here because of the reviews but said hell with it after a long morning of fishing. We got... seated right away, ordered food and drinks within 10 minutes. Cannot give zero star so here?s a one star, for a few reason. One; the fish is overpriced by that I mean insanely expensive... which would have been fine IF it is fresh, but no it tasted like fish out of the freezer and not only that, it?s very stiff likereally dry and hard, also it?s only a tiny piece (around three inches long) and over 50 dollars, so no definitely not worth theprice. Secondly the pasta is horrible, by which I mean it the only time in my life where I had tasted something worse than freepublic school lunch, and if you don?t know that?s the lowest standard for me, you can get better food from the frozen section inWalmart, there were barely any sauce on the meat ball pasta, the fettuccine Alfredo was really greasy and like all of thedishes, lacked ANY salt. Thirdly the service is insanely slow, we waited for a extremely long time about half and hour, for themto actually take our orders, and took more than one hour to actually have the food served, and when the food finally is served,we were not given any utensils so we can?t even eat and waited 10 minutes for the forks and napkins while the food cooled. The only high quality foods were the hard boiled egg and the lettuce. The broccli was frozen, the salmon was dry, etc. We made a... reservation and still had to wait 30 min. to be seated, and the service was slow. It may be one Valdez best, but would notattract a single customer in any Western city. Read more
Service here was very poor, not very clean place and menu is largely "Italian" based, which is fine but just pointing that out.... Bathrooms were less then ideal but i guess in Valdez its considered pretty good, could be using an outhouse instead. LOL Parkingwas easy and price point was acceptable. Read more
Typically not a fan after past experiences here however I gave them another shot and tried their Burger Extravaganza and was... pleasantly surprised with a great burger that was cooked to order and very flavorful and delicious. Hit the spot after a longday of working and will return again for their burgers in the future. Read more
This restaurant was a popular one with a long wait. We couldn't get a table on day 1 without reservations but came back at 5 pm... on another day and were seated promptly. Vegetarian options were limited but tasty. The zucchini fries were great. Tried thebeetroot with warm goat cheese, that was delicious too. Great selection of beer and wine. Good service. We had two delicious dinners tonight at Mike?s. The seafood special with rockfish and sauce had firm white fish and a mild pasta... sauce with soup and veggies. The blackened salmon was also very good. Valdez is busy and an air show added to the crowd in town.The wait staff was friendly and hampered by too many customers making our wait for the check a little long. The decor is veryAlaska international. The restaurant is right across the harbor. Two dinners were $78 with service charge and tax.
