Reviews for Pottastic in Union City, CA
Bought $80 worth of food and honestly felt ripped off. In today's economy, you expect to get a decent amount of food for $80. I... would not recommend this restaurant to anybody. Seriously the food was enough to feed 2 toddlers. So no, do not patronize thisbusiness. Read more
White peppercorn chicken soup is delicious. But pricy for the portion, even after discount. Black pepper shrimp and egg yolk... dishes are also good. Read more
Overpriced food but hot pot is really good here. I?ve tried many things here such as the fried crab, cucumbers w/ pork, roti,... spicy wontons, mood changing drinks, Taiwanese stir fry noodles. These are just mediocre, def not worth the price, flavors arejust ok. It looks way better in pics & it?s very deceiving, esp the mood changing drinks! It didn?t change color at all, sodisappointed. What wows me was the hot pot here, the peppercorn soup base was bomb af. I?ve never had anything like this!! It?sso good on a cold day and it has so much flavors! Read more
This place is located in an ordinary stripe mall and has an inconspicuous exterior, but its interior is modern-looking, open and... inviting. The style is Chinese Asian fusion with some influence from Thai, Indonesia, and Malaysia cuisines. The main attractionhere is the hot pot. However, distinct from typical Chinese hotpot restaurants, this place features, in their own words, "TwoWays In One Pot; where you start with an aromatic sizzling pot and end with a rich simmering broth". The raw food is noticeablyfresher than similar hotpot places, and the price is also above average. However, the large portion justifies the price. I wentto this place twice, once with my wife, and once with three other adults and a toddler. Both times we ordered the recommendedamount, but neither time were we able to finish everything. Besides hotpot, we also ordered some entries. They were delicious, not by a hotpot place standard, but by what I normally expect from an authentic Chinese/Asian restaurant. Overall, I enjoyed myexperience there both times, and I would recommend this place to my friends, especially if they have not tried "Two Ways in OnePot" before. Read more
Had the H1 Hotpot for 2 for my parents and I. The portion was more than enough for the 3 of us. You eat the chicken dish first... (pictured) before they pour the broth for your traditional hotpot. The chicken dish reminds me of Sichuan fried chicken, it wasdelicious but perhaps a bit too salty. Once you're ready, they pour the broth and then it's hotpot as usual! I would recommendto ask them to reduce the saltiness (waiter said that they can do that no problem) and to scoop out all the seasoning once yourbroth comes to a boil. There's plenty of flavor already and it's no fun picking out all the spices and Sichuan peppercorn fromyour veggies, seafood and beef. There are cheaper hotpot places in the East Bay, but I'm impressed with the quality of food.Portion size is just right too in my opinion. You can order items a la carte if you want more meat. Also, the owners used to ownKungfu Kitchen in Fremont so there's a little East Bay trivia for you. Happy to see good restaurants opening up in Hayward. Willdefinitely come back for more. Read more
Great place! Nice soup and ingredients. My first time here and I love it.
Visited on friend's recommendation. Entered at opening hour 11am but waited 15 min. for them to set up. Soup is very good, ... Ingredients are fresh. The overall impression deserve 4 stars. But high price, including separate order of beef noodles, costthem one star and we went there with discount from posting their pictures on our chat group. Read more
