To say this is the BEST place to have a romantic/intimate dinner is an UNDERSTATEMENT. My wife and I have made Bernard"s an... Anniversary tradition since moving to Tyler. The food is fantastic, the staff is very professional, and the ambience isperfect. We always order "off menu" specials. Speaking of which, the staff has these items memorized..it's amazing and goes toshow the pride and respect they have for the restaurant and the customers. Nice atmosphere and friendly, attentive staff. Menu is dominated by seafood dishes, though I opted for the Filet Mignon... Forestiere marinated in mustard, bread crumbs and herb seasoning, baked and sliced, served in a mustard peppercorn sauce. Went here for our business Christmas lunch. Service was good, the server was attenuative to our needs, and the food came out... hot. We ordered off the lunch menu, so the portions were lunch size. I had the Salmon Florentine and we all had a bite of eachof the desserts available. We tasted the Gluten free chocolate cheesecake, Pina colada cheesecake, Lemon layered cake andTiramisu. We celebrated our 49th anniversary here on July 6, 2021. We started out sharing an appetizer of baked brie which was wrapped in... puff pastry, very tasty. This was in addition to the complimentary tapenade and crusty bread. This was followed by a freshsalad, nice and crisp. My wife selected the grilled scallops from the nightly specials and I chose the blackened halibut, bothserved with mashed potatoes and broccolini. Best service and dining experience. The food looked like art forms and tasted divine. The bread came with a minced mix of olives... in oil. The cake was a huge slice of seven layer tres leches chocolate cake that was an amazing end to a fantastic celebrationof our 30th anniversary. Went here with my husband for my birthday. We ended up ordering 2 specials for him, but menu items for me, plus 2 appetizers and... a lot of drinks. His 2 plates were more than the rest of the table.
