Great place to get breakfast made fresh. I had the salmon cheese omelette my wife had that big sandwich. How much is a omelette... with grits was very good she said the egg sandwich was OK but we forgot to grab ketchup because we had our order to go. If you love good southern home cooking, Sunrise Restaurant is a must! The best breakfast on the island with a full breakfast... buffet daily during the summer season. The best traditional sausage gravy on Tybee. The omelets & hash browns are outstanding.Plus they open at 6am for fellow early risers. This is the better of the 2 restaurants on the beach ??. We ate at the one across the street that has been there for many years.... However, the new owner has bought up the whole block and apparently he's using the restaurant's profit to make the restorationson the rest of the property. So therefore the food is sky high. Both restaurants have great food, cooks and waitress. Thekitchen here as you can see in the pictures is kind of like a waffle House/Huddle House set up, so you can watch your food beingprepared if you'd like. This one's cleaner more up to date because the owners put the money back into their restaurant. Coffee ?here taste a lot better, not sure if it's the pipes or coffee ? maker. I will be back. I want to say thank you to whoever bought breakfast for my... friend Lisa and I at this restaurant it really was a surprise how people can be so kind and didn't even leave a name as to whobought us the breakfast. Just to let you know God loves you and thank you so much stay blessed. The reason for the pirate bus isbecause once we walked out of this restaurant there was a tour bus that looked like a pirate boat which was kind of cool so Iadded that to the picture. Diner style breakfast, opens nice and early, seems to get busy right around when most the rest of the island starts waking up.... Seat yourself if it's early/ not too busy. Good way to fill up before heading to the water. Buffet wasn't available yesterday;we may have been too early, or it's just a weekend thing? Drink refills were fast enough, servers were busy but nice overall,making sure to check on us at least once after food arrived. Food didn't take too long either day, and the chicken and wafflesis the bomb. The chocolate chip pancakes were a little chewy yesterday, but the breakfast sandwich today was really good. Thecoffee was meh, but at least the bathrooms are pretty clean and the location is convenient for walking. Read more
