If you are looking for exceptional tasting Mexican cuisine in Tuscaloosa, then Don Tonos is NOT the place to go. I had chips,... salsa, queso and guacamole dip. Also, street tacos and a tamale. The salsa was very bland like it had too much water in it, thetamale was obviously reheated and tough, the tamale sauce was bland. The street tacos were decent except the flour tortillashell was most likely heated up in a microwave and not in a hot skillet like it's supposed to be. The queso and the guacamolewas good, but nothing special. The service was decent and the staff is friendly and the place was clean. The price for my mealwas reasonable. The atmosphere is nice. Also worth mentioning is, there is an additional charge if you choose to pay with acredit card (about 4.5 %) Anyway, my overall opinion is, I would eat there again, maybe, if I happen to be in the neighborhood, but I'd definitely not go out of my way just to eat there. All in all, I rate it 2.5 stars out of 5. Not terrible, not great, its just "Ok" In the words of my dear departed grandpa, "it's nothing to write home about!" Read more

Horrible service. Sat for 30 minutes no menu had to go up and grab one. Sat for another 45 minutes before they took our order.... Don?t come here unless you have 4 hours to spend at dinner. Read more

They were VERY busy on a Friday night and the service was slow. Overall everyone enjoyed their food and it was CHEAP. We would... like to try it on a different day when college kids aren?t crowding the place. Read more

Chips were stale, food was so bland and just horrible. Service was mediocre at best. Happy hour prices on margaritas and beer... were good. Read more

Pretty good place to have some Mexican food. The chips and salsas are good and the service is good as well. The margs are bad so... I gave then 4 stars. I still recommend though! I have the spicy burrito and my wife had the street tacos. Read more

This was absolutely the worst Mexican food I have ever had in my life! Not to mention the glass of wine smelled like battery... acid! They did not have the Pinot Grigio I requested and the server suggested Moscato. The wine smelled like a chemicallyinduced mix, it was horrible. I sent it back and asked for it to be taken off of my tab. I am convinced that it had been sittingin a bottle for a very long time! Now the on to the food, it was horrible too! I think that they are used to the college crowdand they put little effort into regular guest. I simply had 3 soft steak tacos and the were horrible! Please don?t waste yourtime or money at this place! You will be disappointed! Read more
