The food was really tasty and the portions were quite large. Good size menu with quality options. The food is a little on the... expensive side, though, especially when compared to other local options. I tried their plain cheese calzone and chocolate moussecake. One thing I really appreciate is that they allow you to add on dessert (which changes from day to day) to a deliveryorder over the phone. The process was pretty smooth and the employees were quite friendly. My calzone was almost $17. This ismore than most other places I visit, and a significant amount more than Shelly Pie (you can get a massive Shellzone and adessert for the price of just a calzone at Mama Meatball's). Other than that, it was a great calzone. There was plenty ofcheese, both ricotta and provolone (not sure if they used mozzarella). There wasn't any sauce served on the side or on theinside (I'd have liked a $17 calzone to at least come with sauce, which Shelly's comes with a whole cup full of delicioussauce). The dessert was pretty decent. Again, on the pricier end, but it was homemade and tasty. The chocolate cake was moistand the mousse was flavorful. I just didn't find it amazing. They also have ice cream and brownies. All in all, the food istasty. But, ultimately (and even though portions are large) the price is just a bit too high. Talk about a hidden little gem. First off the staff was extremely pleasant. The food was top notch as well. Ordered a gyro, gyro... wedgie, spaghetti and meatballs. Everything was hot and ready! Will be back and if the service and hospitality continue I'll bechanging this to 5 stars. Could potentially be up there with the best in the burgh. Read more
Just had another great pizza ???? from Mama as well as a piece of their super chocolate cake. The pizza was a medium with their... excellent, spicy sausage, mushrooms ????, and roasted red peppers. I highly recommend Mama Meatball's Pizzeria!! My coworkers and I get takeout there at least twice a week! The customer service... is wonderful! All of the employees are so friendly and welcoming! Their food is DELICIOUS! We have had multiple items on theirmenu and enjoyed them all! Great family business with great food...it doesn't get better than that! Read more
My family and I always order the buffalo chicken pizza! It's definitely a favorite of ours, but you truly cannot go wrong with... any traditional topping pizza. A simple pepperoni or cheese is a nice touch for lunch or dinner especially on busy days. Ipersonally like the Greek pizza, but my house is picky, so that's a personal one, and the stuffed shells are amazing too! Myhusband loved them and he's picky! With the shells you get a salad and garlic knots! I can never finish it all. It's delicious.The staff is always friendly and I love how family oriented the business is. Environment is huge for me, and although we dodelivery (most times) ((which is quick and fresh)) the times we do go in for take out, are always a warm and comforting feel, sowe return. ????
