We go here several times a month. These are the nicest people ever! Chicken and brocolli is great. Myvwife loves the vegetable... fried rice and I love the vegetable lo mein. Don't be shaken by the menu they can create or cook anything you ask for.Additionally they may have what you want but may call it something else (for example I know they do not call their General Tsochicken by this name). Good is always very hot but occasionally they forget to give you utensils so make sure you ask. They willprovide plenty of sauce and fortune cookies though. The egg rolls are great as well. I highly recommend. Read more

Looks can be deceiving. This is an old school Chinese place. Good food, decent prices, and some unique differences. They start... you off with tea, which is not common any more. Then you get some soaked cabbage and fried noodles. The rest is up to what youorder. I really wasn?t sure about the place when we got there but I was happy with the place. My father in law has been cominghere for years and says the place hasn?t changed in 30 years. I could believe it. I?m f you look past all that, I think you?llenjoy it. Read more

I've been going to Hunan East for literally 40 years. First time they were in the Laurel plaza in Blackwood. Then they moved to... Deptford, across from 5 pts diner....then they moved to where they are today. Best food around. We always get Grandpa chicken(gen tso) and 5 spice chicken with string beans are the bomb. Read more

Some of the best Chinese I?ve ever had. The place my be outdated visually, so I would have given a overalls 4 star with that in... mind, but the service, food and value for the money swayed me, so don?t let the atmosphere fool you, this place has some tastyfood, friendly service and worth a try if you are in the area. I'm very picky, this place is old school. Love the wonton in the soup, very fresh and the best noodles as well, haven't seen... this kind since Chinatown in NYC. Food is good, prices are great and the service too. I highly recommend this place to anyonewho wants old school Chinese dining. It's not fancy but clean . Read more

I'd give 4 stars for their cheesesteak rolls, BUT I'd give 1 star for their chinese pizza (scallian pancakes)!!! I spent $2.95... plus tax (so over $3 for 4 small pieces that were bland/not flavorful, very dry and just all around blah and not good) ;/. Iusually order from Bamboo Garden, Hunan East needs to try their chinese pizza to see what theirs really should taste like...very disappointing (also Bamboo Garden sauce for their pizza taste better too, lil sweeter). This place is the absolute best! My fiancé and I just discovered it a few weeks ago and we?ve already been back twice. The... food is delicious and the prices are beyond reasonable. We are both in agreement that this is the best Chinese food in thearea. The service really makes you feel at home and welcome. We?ve had both May and Mickey as servers and they?re so friendlyand helpful. Definitely give this restaurant a try. Read more
