I think the staff was excellent but the food is just ok. I've been here twice and ordered the same thing. Both times were very... average. I had the risotto. This was my first time visiting this restaurant, I live in the Phoenix suburbs but was out here visiting family and they brought... me here. I ordered the dish w/eggplant and I regretted it. Honestly the eggplant was way too thick. Not the way I had ever hadit in an Italian restaurant before. But, the sauce was ok. Visiting the Tucson area we were absolutely delighted and fortunate to find this wonderful restaurant. It happened that it was... the first night they were opened after a two week closing.. The food was excellent with a menu variety of wonderful pasta, fish,snd chicken dishes and service was prompt. We went to the Trattoria Pina for the 1st time for our anniversary. It was cozy, romantic & we had a table with a view of the... Catalina Mountains. Staff were all nice & helpful. The food was delicious! We tried their special & loved every bite. Desserts were perfect for 2 people. I highly recommend this place. Would recommend for couples.
