If you like fresh and tasty food and very tasty agua frescas (which are also very fresh), this is your place. The service is... efficient and personal. The decoration/artwork is fun and I especially enjoy the LP covers on the entry wall. Ask if they haveanything that's not on the menu, sometimes they do, and sometimes they're willing to share it with the customers... Read more

This is the best Mexican food I have ever eaten, hands down. I'd class these meals as a religious experience -- and I'm saying... that after living in Texas for 18 years in my youth. The food is what your Mexican grandmother might fix in the casita -- nochimichangas! - from fresh ingredients that never saw a freezer. Your mouth will sing. This is an incredible, slow foodexperience. It's prepared fresh to order in the kitchen by Martin and Scott, so be ready to savor the dinner conversation withyour partner or friends, linger over that horchata and chips with the best beans you'll ever eat (mayacobas, from Martin'sfamily farm), appreciate the art, relish the incredible flavor, and enjoy the humor and conversation with Martin and Scott. Theywill treat you like a person, ask how you're doing, and remember you. (Scott also shared great suggestions for hiking around thearea.) On the menu, my fella and I can personally recommend the tacos pinches (chicken mole, beans & cheese, veg), vegetablequesadilla, huevos rancheros and the choco-flan. (The first meal we had there was so good, I insisted we come back for another.)The horchata is vegan and delicious; the Jamaica is tart-sweet and perfect for a hot summer day. Go savor an evening over ameal at Martin's. You'll be glad you did. Read more

This is Tucson's hidden in the wide open gem. Across the street from SkyBar and down the street from overrated pretender Boca,... Martin serves it up authentic and with no filter. The philosophy here is keep it simple and it works to perfection. There's noliquor license but you can BYOB provided you aren't loud or obnoxious. The Carne Asada tacos are otherworldly (no greasey, oily, creme lathered bs here, just the real thing). Wash it down with his Pineapple Agua Fresca (delicious!) and for dessert, try hisChocoFlan, a half flan, half chocolate torte that is indescribably decadent and delicious. Martin cooks it all and serves it upwith a flair all his own. You won't eat tacos anywhere else in Tucson again! Read more

I have had this place bookmarked for awhile and was in the area... and hungry so stopped by. With the pandemic, they are open... for takeout. We were greeted and taken care of warmly by Martin himself. We ordered the chilaquiles and a 3 taco plate. Hewhipped up our order/packaged it up, and even though we had a hike back to Vail the food was super tasty and still warm when wegot home. The salsas were awesome, I particularly liked the green. My hubby got the carne asada, chicken mole and one othertaco that was recommended and he scarfed them down. He is a hard sell on any Mexican food establishment he has never tried andhe loved his tacos. My chilaquiles were really good, and I loved the way they did the beans. I was really impressed at hownicely everything was packaged up and in a bag that was sealed shut. Well done Martin, we will be back! Read more
