Reviews for Jason's Deli in Tucson, AZ
This was mt first time eating from Jason's deli and I was very disappointed. I did a build your own salad for $16. The lettuce... was brown in many areas, which in it of itself would have been fine, but the avocado I paid extra for was rotten and they slicedit up and put it on my salad anyway along with what appeared to be old unfrozen cucumber slices. For a fresh salad, I expectedjust that. Read more
We always love coming to Jason?s Deli, but had a very disappointing experience today. We found out after ordering that the salad... bar no longer offers any of the pudding options. My personal favorite thing about the salad bar. Both muffin options had runout, and after inquiring they didn?t think any more would be coming out (this was around 1pm). They did not bring out moreduring our visit. Also, sad they no longer offer soft server?which was the only reason we can convince our kids to come. It wasa very disappointing visit and we probably won?t be back, especially without the soft serve! Read more
A roomy deli with a nice salad bar and large selection of soups and sandwiches. The service is friendly and they offer free... fountain drinks for military. I recommend the muffaletta! It's a New Orleans classic and a rare find outside of Louisiana. It'sa HUGE sandwich though - a 1/4 or 1/2 is enough for one person - and comes with either ham (the OG) or turkey. Read more
My partner and I ate here yesterday for the first time and overall it was a disappointing experience. We saw all the positive... Google reviews and considering it's just down the road from my apartment, we decided to give it a try. I ordered a vegetariansandwich with zucchini while my partner ordered the Carmela sandwich along with a side salad from their salad bar. Although theemployees were friendly, the service was pretty quick, and our orders appeared appetizing, most of the food unfortunately lackedflavor and was pretty bland. My sandwich was soggy and didn't have really any distinct flavor. The Lay's jalapeno potato chips Ihad with it had more taste! The salad wasn't anything special, the olives and artichokes from the salad bar tasted like dishwater, and my partner and I both agreed that his sandwich tasted overwhelmingly salty. You couldn't get any real distinctflavors from the different meats in the sandwich either. The amount of saltiness in his sandwich also left him feeling poorlyfor hours afterward. A little side note...he and I also noticed that despite them having several employees working at the timeand business being pretty slow (there were only maybe 2-3 small parties including us dining there), a few tables had not beencleared off and cleaned for most of the time we were there and one of those tables had dirty dishes sitting on it since wearrived. I essentially wasted over $9 on a sandwich I could make 10x better at home for a lot less and my partner wasted around$15. We will not be returning and definitely do not recommend. There are so many better places to get a sandwich or salad inTucson! Read more
It's not all you can eat salad bar anymore. And there seems to be less items. BUT you can add a cup of soup or a protein for an... additional 2.99. Not bad. Unfortunately, the restaurant appeared to be understaffed as EVERY available table but one, had dirtydishes and had not been cleaned. We took the one table available. While we were there, I don't recall anyone rushing around toclean the tables. The staff person taking our order at the register was very nice though. Read more
I've been going to Jason's since I was a kid. This is a deli. In Tucson. Meaning, it's not NYC and you won't find the world's... best Reuben here. With that being said, they really do try. The corned beef is tasty and the pastrami is cut thin. They alsohave an all you can eat salad bar with fresh veg and basics to make a nice salad. Not to mention everyone gets a free frozenyogurt cone! Lots of tables, order at the counter, they bring you your food. Oh, and a little (albeit a bit noisy) patio fordining outside. Read more
Good quality & decent variety. We tried the east side location for the 2nd time this year. The sandwiches are well made with... fresh ingredients and have consistently good flavor. The salad bar is decent, most items seem fresh and clean but it could use atad more variety. There should be a little more attention to detail as some labels were incorrect. The hibiscus tea said it wassweetened but was not. It still tasted good but was definitely unsweetened. Some salad bar items were mislabeled as well. Thestaff seem professional and everyone was working and no one was rude but they were not particularly enthusiastic. There werealmost no smiles to be seen on this trip. It is discouraging when the staff don't seem happy to be there. We will give itanother try because the location is convenient when we visit this area but we want to support businesses who take care of theirworkers and thus have happy employees. So that's what we'll be looking for. Read more
Curbside pick-up did not go as planned. I checked in ON MY WAY as the text stated to do and then I checked in when I ARRIVED and... still waited roughly 8 minutes before getting my food and I had to call the restaurant to let them know I was there. Thecurbside pick-up parking space is right in front of the order window so you can definitely see when someone drives up and issitting there. I saw a few employees look at me parked and just kept walking. I finally get my food brought to me by a veryyoung guy in a black collar shirt and slacks and he kept apologizing to me. I get back to work and open my food to find I wasmissing my fruit dip (very sad) the fruit is just not the same without it! I give my review 3 stars because the food was hotand tasty (as usual). I'm just hoping my review heightens curbside pick-up service for the future so I am able to use it againwithout hesitation. Read more
