I went old school and ordered my mom's favorite from childhood: Sweet & Sour Chicken. It was tasty, crispy chicken, crisp... veggies, it tasted like I remembered when I was a kid. We ordered War Wonton Soup and extra spicy Garlic Eggplant for lunch. The soup had a lot of fresh vegetables, but canned... mushrooms. The soup was surprisingly lacking in taste! The Eggplant dish was not spicy at all, about a 3 out of 10. Again, there was very little taste, including no hot pepper or garlic. The taste was what I'd expect from a small town in rural Idahoor Kansas, with a cook that has never had oriental food- very bland, nondescript, and unremarkable. I have had Chinese food everywhere from nowhereseville Montana to Vienna and this was not what I expected. Staple dishes like... Teriyaki Chicken, General Tso's, and Chashew Chicken were both visually and edibly different from what I have always gotten.Even the fortune cookie didn't have good flavor, and we paid $60. Read more
