Great place to come before a show. The patio is beautiful and the drinks, food and service were all great. We split the cheese... crisp and got some burgers. Both were excellent. The only thing that was a little weird, was that we were told the drinks weretaking a little long because the bartender had to run over to the liquor store because they ran out of tequila. I'm not sure howa bar runs out of tequila, or if they just ran out of one particular type of tequila and didn't think to use or offer adifferent one? Either way, had never heard that one before. But the food was definitely good, and so was the margarita once itcame. Yes, it was a bit pricey, but the flavor was there. Read more

This place has changed soooo much! It used to be delicious. The reason for two stars is because the cheese crisp was really... lovely. But everything else was very disappointing. The tacos were the worst I?ve ever had in Tucson - stale tortillas, noseasoning? it?s terrible food for very high prices. Service was also very poor. Won?t be going back ever again. Read more

My wife and I stopped in from our daily walk and are glad we did. The convenient location has made it a frequent stop on our... morning walks. They offer a breakfast buffet on weekends but we ordered from the menu. The new chef has made minor adjustmentsto the menu but the offerings are still delicious and more than ample. The service and staffing were excellent. They open at 6so you can walk there before it gets too hot. If you drive, there is plenty of convenient parking. Read more

The staff is what did it for me. The food isn't quite what I would consider "authentic" Mexican cuisine, but it was tasty. A... cute "Date night" spot for sure. Read more

Came here on a weekday night. The place had scattered customers on the patio. I'd definitely recommend the patio. It's very... quaint. For appetizers we ordered the ceviche, calamari and the fried goat cheese salad. Ceviche was okay. Calamari was verygeneric. The salad was refreshing but could need a little bit more zing to it. For an entree we got the skirt steak and thepapas bravas. The steak was excellent. Really tender and succulent. The potatoes were generic again. Their cocktail menu iscreative and the drinks are really good. I highly recommend. The service was attentive and pleasant. Read more

This restaurant took a hard nose dive to the bottom. El Mezquite was one of my favorite places to dine, but tonight is one of... the most disappointing meals I?ve had in awhile. In short, the food was subpar, lacking in quality, taste, and presentation. There were blatant inaccuracies in the menu description, and the complete lack of accountability by staff to fix what?sobviously their mistake sank any redeeming factor for this restaurant. The incoherent excuses that were thrown at us werelaughable and almost offensive as if we should've known better. We asked, and were CLEARLY told when we ordered that the 3 prefixe dessert items came all together and we didn't have to pick an individual one. Then we got a plate of the "chocolate heartchurros", which honestly looked quite sad. There was absolutely no miscommunication. When we nicely asked about the lava cakeand ice cream, we were told that it doesn't come with it (see menu picture for reference), surprise! However, if we REALLY wantit they can make it for us and the reason why it didn't come with it was because they're really small. What...? One of thewaiters said the chef can come out and explain this, which is absurd, unprofessional and dramatic. I do hope that they wouldsomehow turn this ship around back to its vibrant atmosphere with food that is on par with the best in town. Read more

We discovered the Mesquite Grill driving by and seeing the lovely, inviting patio! The staff we encountered were all really... friendly and delivered service with a smile. My friend and I both got a burger accompanied by yucca fries that were absolutelydelicious. Definitely will be back! Beautiful outdoor patio and music. Service was fantastic and food presentation spot on. The pork sauce was amazing and the wing... seasoning was delicious. Chicken was juicy but a little bland. All in all great place for dinner for 2.. Read more
