Reviews for Commoner & Co in Tucson, AZ
Good food. Got the artichoke dip (fairly large and a good deal during happy hour) and the sambal braised beef. Both were great,... the dip was probably the best artichoke dip I've had, and was served with some nice toast. The sambal beef was slightly toosalty in my opinion, but otherwise very delicious (served with collard greens and goat cheese polenta). The restaurant interioris nice, but the tables were a little too close together. Would come back! The food is definitely a great deal for the price, solong as you're not ordering a steak, anyway! Wow!! The chef, Dave Anderson had his first wine pairing in this restaurant. It was nothing less than fabulous. The waitstaff... was spot on friendly and professional. Liz , the manager was with her staff 100% and aimed to please. The food couldn’t havebeen any more delicious. The Commoner also has an amazing Happy Hour with wonderful drinks and a great menu. Great jobCommoner!! We highly recommend you and will be the first to sign up for your next wine pairing. You already had us at HappyHour!! Read more
Date night at Commoner & Co is a favorite of ours. Food was great and service on point. We appreciate they will make adjustments... to ingredients due to food allergies. Beverage selection is fun and again very local. We will be back again to taste moreflavors. Read more
It’s anything but “common”! It’s uncommonly great ! Great food/nice ambiance! This was our 3rd or 4th time here and we... again really enjoyed the casual atmosphere, great food and excellent service (from Alex ). Start with a fun unique cocktail (egBourbon Trail or Dirty Martini) and the Truffle Fries. Then onto some serious comfort food like Chorizo Mac & Cheese, Meatloaf, half roasted chicken, grilled cheese, or a Burger. Or go big with a steak! The Shrimp Scampi was great and the Pesto Gnocchi waseven better. Nice beer and wine list as well. I would comment on the deserts as they sounded great, but we had no room forthem. Finally, prices were very reasonable! VictorB Read more
I’m convinced this restaurant is incapable of serving unexciting food. They even make carrots (honey glazed with candied... walnuts and bleu cheese) taste like the best Thanksgiving side dish you’ve ever had. If you love great food without the smokeand mirrors and indulgence of other restaurants, you will love Commoner & Co. Read more
One of the best fine dining restaurants in Tucson, by far! Went for Sonoran restaurant week, great menu, short rib and... everything was super fresh and unique. Not too crowded, great mellow vibe, super relaxing and enjoyable. I'll be back, probablyeverytime I'm in Tucson! Read more
Initially I was offput by the wobbly table and us being sat immediately next to another occupied table despite many other open... tables that were further away from others in the dining room. However, my initial concerns were resolved by the immense qualityof the meal. The brussel sprouts were superb and the meatloaf was amazing. The portion size was generous as well, and theservice was good. The deconstructed key lime pie (pictured) was a great way to finish the experience. We'll definitely be back. Read more
Overall mediocre experience. The only part that I’d save was the service by a friendly and professional staff. Ambiance: too... loud, noisy… which could be solved if they used a bit of fabric details here and there. The chairs are made of metal, whichmakes them overly uncomfortable, while the long wooden benches are too hard. The place was really cold, so much so that mostpeople were wearing their jacket even while eating. Really disappointing Food: the salad was the best part. The chicken wasdoubly overcooked- the breast was so dry that I only had one bite, while the leg & thigh were at least edible, but stillovercooked. The ciampi was so overcooked that one has to wonder who measures the cooking time for the pasta. Wine: ok Overall, mediocre at best, which made the whole experience overpriced and disappointing - and I would not recommend this place to anyone Read more
