Reviews for Angry Crab Shack & BBQ in Tucson, AZ
We ordered the family feast for 3 to 4 people ($180), with the trifecta (Garlic, lemon and pepper with Cajun seasoning) at... medium heat. I love spicy, but didn't want to burn my tongue the whole meal. It was flavored well! A TON of seasoning! Kingcrab, snow crab, lobster, shrimp and a few potatoes and sausage as well as corn. We wanted leftovers, but to be honest I thoughtit would be bigger. I don't think it would feed 4 hungry adults. They were incredibly busy when we got there (7pm Friday). Wewere seated immediately, but literally wasn't attended to until 45 mins to take our order. Then the food came out 50 minuteslater. We left just before 10pm. We weren't offered anything while we waited...when mentioning the long wait, our waitress said"well the food is good, so worth the wait". We watched 2 people who walked in 3 minutes after us, order food, eat and leavebefore we even got our food. That's was highly disappointing. Food is good. But not sure what happened with the rest of theexperience. Not worth the $200+ bill. Read more
Good food! This is a great place to make a mess and eat great seafood. It is expensive, but worth it if you love fresh seafood.... Dump your food on the table and have at it. Bring a sharpie to write on the walls! It is noisy and messy and fun! Read more
This is a very popular restaurant in Tuscon, assuming so because there aren’t many options here for seafood. I may be bias... because I am from the east coast where we throw seafood boils all the time but I would NEVER eat from here again. It’s hardenough finding a genuine seafood so I was very worried to begin with, rightfully so. First things first, whenever I pass by thisplace it is ALWAYS packed in the parking lot and busy so a 45 minute wait did not come to surprise. When we were seating it tookus a while to get a server, she only came to the table twice the whole night. I asked her where the oysters came from, she wasunsure, red flag. I got the oysters as a starter, it took over 15 minutes for the to come. They looked SCARY, very large, swollen, and tough. Almost like raw chicken breast. I tried one and it was so thick and tough, it did not easily slide down mythroat like oysters should. When the server came to check on us at the end of our meal (the second time I saw her that night), Iasked her to take the oysters because I wasn’t fan and she took care of it without a hassle. When it comes to the boil bags, you can tell the seafood is not boiled with seasoning/sauce, only boiled with water and then thrown into a bag with your choiceof sauce. The seafood was very bland and flavorless, not at all marinated in any seasoning and did not taste fresh. Read more
food was tasty. shrimps were bigger than other crab shack that we have been to. be careful with the spicy level tho. service was... good. the steamed rice was a downer, it was cold and tasted like it wasn't cooked recently. Read more
First time visiting here, Tuesday 03/08/22. Food was pretty good and service was good. The menu was a bit confusing so we just... shared a bag with a little of everything in it. The server recommended trying an additional sauce on the side. Place was alittle dirty and the building has a lot of maintenence issues that need attention! The theme is very different and costefficient?! Not really my type. We will try the new location when it opens but I would choose Red Lobster or Joe's Crab Shack upin Tempe over this location again. It's been so long since I've had seafood on a paper covered table. Really brought back some childhood memories with the sweet... crab ???? ???? Everything was great. My husband thought ahead and made reservations so that we didn't have to wait at all to beseated. Read more

3.5 The restaurant is connected to the hotel Hyatt Place. Friendly service, tasty seafood. A little pricey for two, tip and... out the door, around $185. I'm sooo hungry right now, we ate an hour ago. We decided on the boil for two. Cajun flavor, medium heat. Great selections, shrimp, lobster, snow crab, king crab, sausage, 2 potatoes and two pieces of corn. Oh man how Iwish for a few more carb filled potatoes to fill my grumbling tummy. We also enjoyed the charred oysters. Pretty good, butnothing on the Hama oysters in Oregon/Washington. Looks like they are big on community giving. THANK YOU! Suggestions, addextras to your boil.
