This place was an institution growing up. Recently, I went back and the food was just as I remembered. The fried chicken is... always good. I went out of my comfort zone and tried their baked white fish with tomatoes and spinach. Holy Cow! I couldn't eatit fast enough; it was that good. I have been eating at Piccadilly since 1989. I still enjoy the nostalgia of such a grand place. But things are slipping. Not... many of them left now. I have eaten here many times. But the last 2 times my chopped steak was "cold". I mean "roomtemperature" right out of the hot tray pan? I was starving and still ate it. The first time I thought was a "fluke". Then ithappened again today? The food is usually hot at this restaurant? The green beans were "warm". Mashed potatoes were kindawarm. But the chopped steak was room temp. I could put it on top of my head easily and I wouldn't mind at all! The savinggrace for this meal was the cherry cheesecake. That was very good. But at $3.79 for one slice... it HAS to be good! It was..butthat price is a bit much for one slice of cheesecake. I still would like everyone to support the restaurant if you can and keepthis classic going as long as we can. Hope they can turn it around. This meal cost $18 "before" the tip!! All of the staff Iencountered were very nice though. P.S. the trays look like they were made in 1970. Wish we could get them replaced. There isonly 1 thing worse than bad chopped steak. That is a GOOD chopped steak served cold?? Please somebody help.. this food has somuch potential. Read more
Employees were friendly and the price was reasonable. Dined here many years ago and the food was good. However on this visit, I... wasn't overly impressed. It's the little things that matter. I ordered my food via Doordash and it always comes piping hot, fresh tasting and we'll... packaged. Someone wrote "Happy Birthday" on my receipt for my birthday order. This was my BaBas and my favorite spot to go eatwhen she was living and the great food and customer service bring back those nostalgic and happy memories. Review Update: Todayis December 1st, 2022 and I found out that I can no longer order Picadilly via Door Dash so I ordered via UberEATS. To my dismaythere was no option for me to purchase a slice of their famous and my favorite Red Velvet Cake. I posted my disappointment in myorder instructions and stated that today is my Birthday! To my surprise my order was delivered with a big ole slice of RedVelvet Cake! Guys it's the little things like this that a person will always fondly remember. I get teased for loving to eat atPicadilly by my younger friends and family but this is where my best memories with my BaBa we're made and are still beingcherished thanks to whomever always gets my takeout order each Birthday at Picadilly!
