Have been to this spot several times over the past four years that I've been in Tucker area . This time the food was great... !! Ordered the Curry chicken and it was on on point . For me this spot has the potential to be a great restaurant,but doesn'tseem to pay attention to the details that would take business to the next level. The vibe is just low when you walk in and itdoesn't look very clean. This place has gone downhill. I believe they changed chefs because they were amazing over a year ago. Now I always get burnt or... poor tasting food when I give them another chance. They are very inconsistent. Even people I introduced to the restaurant askedme if I noticed the change. Find somewhere else to eat from. The photo is of STEW CHICKEN! The whole plate was burnt. Ordered 2 curry goat with rice and peas meals. I couldn?t eat the rice and peas due to a strange taste from the first bite I... spit it out. I smelled it and the smell was unlike rice & peas I?ve had from any place. I don?t know if it was old and gettingstale or what. It was taken from a big rice cooker. 1st and last time ordering food from this place. I ordered the jerk chicken dinner w rice and cabbage. Well, Im not sure what... this meat was that I was given, but it?s not jerk chicken. I ordered this for someone so I didn?t know how it was supposed tolook . When I made it home and checked the food, I knew why the lady piled it in the container ?because whatever it is, it wastastless and dry, & so was the rice. The jerk sauce didn?t help. $15 wasted. Granted, I showed up for dinner at around 8:15pm. They were already cleaning to close down at 8:30. I ordered the jerk chicken... and rice and peas. I asked for extra jerk sauce but when she opened the box to show me, it didn?t look as if she put any onthere. Anywho, home to take a bite and it tasted OLD! The rice and peas were EXTREMELY dry & stiff. The meat tasted like it hasbeen sitting out for days and it was a tad discolored. Never again will I eat from this place. Great authentic Jamaican restaurant. I've read complaints about the older woman that manages the restaurant, but she was... incredibly nice to us and let us try the goat curry before we decided on it.
