Worst service ever, we asked for a dinner combination so me and my husband could pay for one meal and still get the same amount... of food, and when it came time to pay, they made the biggest commotion because their server could not hear us. So they tried tomake us pay for two separate meals which is going to be $71 when we were sharing a meal which was only supposed to be 29. Theplace was dirtier than hell the cooks/chefs were rude, and he didn?t ask us if we had any type of allergies. I am allergic tomushrooms, and all I could taste was mushrooms. While on vacation we simply had to have hibachi at some point. We used Google to form an opinion and came to check out this... place. Our Chef was very entertaining and friendly. We didn´t have to wait for our table to be filled and were seated rightaway. The portions were huge, the ingredients fresh and we left fat and happy. Read more
For $50 I had a perfectly prepared Filet Mignon and scallops over fried rice with sauté vegetables and the most awesome and... personal feeling (almost concierge like) service. Not only was the chef one of those charismatic and entertaining types, but theowner herself seats, serves and makes recommendations to you for drinks based on simple minor likes and dislikes. I've not hadthis kind of experience and level of service anywhere that I can recollect and I'm a major foodie and harsh critic of finedining and restaurants. My wife and I dine out regularly, weekly, as we've worked very hard to earn the ability and privilegeto do so. So I don't take spending my money lightly. $50 is an expensive meal, but that includes the 18%service fee they includewhich at this level of service is more than well deserved and earned. I cannot proclaim enough how truly awesome this was. Ifyou're looking for that special fine dining experience, do yourself the favor and come here, trust me you will not bedissatisfied. The showmanship from the chef is just the right amount without that "hovering" feeling. He prepared everything inthis meticulous manner that ensures each item will be cooked to exact specification. It's fun to watch him compartmentalize theitems and move between them while giving the fun anecdotal joke and making a show of it. Also, you really should try some oftheir Saki options, the Yuzu and Cucumber saki are to die for in the summer heat! I almost didn't want to make this review,honestly, because this is such a gem of a place and I don't want to make it hard for me and my wife to come back to, but weliterally just walked right in on a Sunday evening, granted we eat dinner earlier than most, about 5pm, so we likely beat anyrush. This place is great! Wonderful food, service, and entertainment. My experience here was much better than in Benihana, no waiting... of two hours for sitting and a quieter environment that allows me to have a conversation and relax (I hugely appreciate this). The food and drinks were excellent!!! The cook was very personable and created a memorable and fun experience. I?ll definitelycome back with family and friends. Read more
Izumi has been our favorite restaurant for special occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays until now. Therefore... our family usually visit about once a month or so. Recently we went and they had signs up saying "18% service charge added tothe bill". I had assumed that 18% was the tip but according to the chef that 18% stays in house (goes to owner) and the tip iscompletely separate. I asked another person working to make sure I understood because 20%+18% is a pretty hefty addition to analready high total. We have decided we will no longer come back to Izumi after paying roughly 40% of a hefty bill in fees andtips. It ruined the wonderful experience for our family. If the restaurant needs to make more money I suggest raising the priceof the food and doing away with the service charge. Read more
Best hibachi in Oregon. We have had hibachi all over the world and this is some of the best. The food is more than plentiful and... delicious. The owners/ employees are delightful and we highly recommend!! (The soup is amazing too). Read more
Best Japanese Steakhouse I've been to! Their food show had things I haven't seen at others, they were funny and kid friendly.... Definitely worth the price. They served generous portions, and the steak and lobster dinner was AH-MAZING!!! Great atmosphere!There is also a bar area and a wide variety of alcohol. Read more
Amazing food and amazing chef! BUT.... This place is filthy and very tacky. The wait staff was dressed trashy and were visibly... dirty. Waited 45 minutes for our meal to start and we were the only ones there. Read more
