Me and my wife love this spot. We recently moved to Nova Scotia from Ontario where their is an abundance of British food shops... but nothing of way of cafe/restaurants offering a sit down experience of the UK. Great British Grub does a brilliant job ofthis, I've been for a pie and chips lunch (I got pictures but that was earlier in the summer and can't seem to find them!), Butit was delicious and sitting on the patio in the sun felt very much like a good beer garden! Then a trip to Victoria Parkrecommended by the owner, I had no idea about it and it became one of my favourite places in the province! It makes for a greatday out doing both, especially when driving in from Halifax. I was in again recently as I was passing through Truro and gotmyself a Scottish breakfast, adding an English sausage! It was all very good, this time eating inside. It was a Wednesdaymorning and the place was packed the entire time we were there. My wife got the veg Balti and loved it! Upon leaving we grabbeda lemon cookie, it didn't make it to the car, my wife nipped in and grabbed 6 more which didn't see the next day! Overall it'sa brilliant experience offering an authentic British experience here in Nova Scotia through excellent food and exceptionalservice. Any time I'm in the area I'll stop in and any time I have visitors from Ontario or the UK I'll make a day of visitingGBG and Victoria Park!???????????? Read more

Awesome place to eat food at. Chose to eat outside the establishment in their outside area, experience was bad due to Hornets,... not sure where they came from, but it hindered the experience, hence 2 stars for atmosphere. Next time I would like to sitinside and see what it looks like. Food is great ! English Breakfast was delicious. Little bummed the coffee was not someBritish form of their coffee or a unique made version of coffee Britain style. All in all, a nice welcomed place to eatbreakfast. Read more

My first time eating there and it didn't disappoint! Me and the Hubby both got breakfast, everything was cooked and seasoned so... well. Definitely our new favorite spot! The place is just so cute and the staff were very friendly. Read more

I am new to the area and Google recommended Great British Grub for vegetarian food which I thought was a bit strange since the... Brits aren't known for being herbivores. I was pleasantly surprised that they had a decent menu of vegetarian breakfast items. Ihad a breakfast wrap and it was very good. Also great price and atmosphere. Read more

Delightful spot. Well-staffed. Lots of retro British memorabilia & authentic menu items (Staffordshire Oatcakes will be your new... breakfast/brunch fave) - from Scotch Eggs & Cornish Pasties to full British or Celtic breakfasts & Coronation Sandwich withBarley Soup. Small patios fore & aft, as well as indoor dining. Takeaway baked goods. Read more

Cute restaurant settled into a house in the center of town. The interior and the British menu has a nice charm about it. The... servers were friendly and attentive. The food was mediocre. My potatoes were undercooked and hard and the beans certainly tastedlike they were from a can and not homemade. I'll likely revisit to try other menu items. I heard the pot pies are not worthmissing. Came back to try this place for a second time. Again, just dissapointing. Bland food, undercooked potatoes and longwait times for literally something as easy as eggs and toast. Read more

Had a really good "Full English" breakfast and cup of tea. I checked out the reviews before going and this place deserves its... high rating. I loved the owners response to another guys comment about beans not being home made. The response was bang on. Ialso had a minced beef pastry to further indulge my craving for British fare. It was good too. Read more
