The Sawyer is SUCH a hidden gem in Truckee! We have dined and/or had drinks here many times over the years & it's always a great... experience. The restaurant itself is beautiful & the food/drink is excellent & the service is flawless. Make a reservation, though, as this popular place is fully booked often. Read more

Just played around of golf here over the Fourth of July weekend. I cannot say enough how gorgeous this place is! It?s literally... something out of a Thomas Kincaid painting. They?ve got a great pro shop where I picked up a pair of foot Joyce and they evenhad a free lunch for us when we got done with our around as a thank you for the Fourth of July. Hi I?ve played many courses allover California some of the best in existence, and I?d say this one ranks at the top with any of the others Read more

Food quality is good, but not great by Bay Area standards. Service is slow. Takeout ordering is poor to non-existent, even for... residents! Unbelievable how they ad hoc decide to not offer takeout despite advertising it on their own site. Too random to beworth the expense. They don?t even offer breakfast or brunch?!? Read more

Pretty amazing food and drink. The salmon was great and the beef stroganoff was possibly one of the best I have ever had. The... brussel sprouts were outstanding as well. At the old fashioned was well made. We ate at the bar. Brian was great Read more

Everything here is so bomb. The drinks are thoughtfully made and on a cold day the buttered rum and toddy are ideal. The siracha... honey chicken actually tastes like honeycomb. The stroganoff is also great from the tender short ribs to the morel mushrooms tothe house-made parpadelle. The romanesco sauce on the polenta was also excellent. Read more

Much better than expected for what looks like a golf course clubhouse on the map! The food was very tasty; the outside setting... delightful in an early summer evening, although the interior looked a bit gloomy on our way through. All wines are available bythe glass as well as the bottle, which was a nice touch - and all of the four we tried were rather good. Nits: we asked forthin fries, and thick ones were delivered - but changed on request. But this was a minor issue. Read more

Ok so I am only posting photos of the Tiramisu, the Butter Cake, the Fall bowl with Impossible Meat steak, and a Thai Chicken... bowl - so it takes about 4hrs to drive from the Bay Area to Truckee but if it took 8hrs instead and ended in a meal at theSawyer, I?d do it over and over again. The food is SO GOOD. Missing in this review is also the Mushroom and Asparagus Pizza withtruffle oil that I?d legit kill for. Also, in case you?re planning to waste your time and money at Pianeta in downtown Truckee, forget it, come to this place instead. The community around it is super nice too. Read more
