Definitely hit and miss. On the plus side the street tacos were quite tasty (had the Salsa Negra Pork and Carne Asada Taco). ... And the Shrimp Burrito (served in a bowl) was also good. On the other hand the queso dip was barely warm, too thick to usechips on, and fairly bland. And that lead to another problem?you can only order from the ?Toast? app. There are not servers,just runners. I get that it?s a way to be more efficient with the number of people working, but there are a few obvious thingswrong with this: 1) this takes away from the benefit of asking about dishes; 2) The runners don?t come by unless they aredropping off food; 3) there isn?t a way to get a runner over aside from getting up and getting someone?s attention who happensto be dropping food off (could be easily fixed in the app itself with a ?Request A Server? button); 4) There wasn?t a way toorder something not on the menu?like a side of jalapenos. I did also ask for some hot sauce, was told it was on the app. Found the habanero hot sauce?for $0.75. OK, interesting. They delivered it in a small container with less than a tablespoon ofhot sauce, for $0.75?what is this world coming to? Read more
Fresh food, easy ordering and pay, slow service. Stopped by around 12:45 on a Saturday afternoon and stood in line fo4 about 10... minutes before being greeted to put our names on the waitlist. We watched the entire outside empty and tables cleaned when wegot called at 1:30 to sit down. At least we got to choose our seats. The food was fresh, but just okay. I stopped in Truckee for a pit stop and some tacos. COMO was the ticket! Great tacos, I grabbed them from the bar to go, and... they were delicious. The bartender got me chips and salsa as I waited for the tacos to come out and the salsa was excellent. Ihighly recommend it, and the next time I stop in Truckee I?ll be back to COMO. Read more
Living in some super strange days we are! Was turned away from an Italian restaurant called Pianeta a few doors up the path from... COMO for not wearing a mask. Here at COMO I was greeted with total kindness and respect, was not discriminated against in anyway. In the perfection of things the food here at COMO is outstanding. These are certainly the best tacos in Truckee Californiamaybe the the best tacos within hundreds of miles of this restaurant. Their guac and salsas are fresh made in-house. We stopped in Truckee on our way back to our home town from Reno. We scanned some menus outside of the cute downtown... restaurants, and when we spotted Shrimp Tacos on Como's we knew this was the spot for us. They were delicious - great flavorprofile with cucumber slices, chimichurri, red bell pepper and jamaica all on homemade corn tortillas that were unlike any Ihave ever had. everything was so fresh. We ordered a bean and cheese burrito for the toddler, but she wasn't used to wholebeans. The adults devoured it while I added a cheese quesadilla to our order. The owner comped us the burrito charge since thelittle wanted something else even though we ate it. I left a generous tip to compensate for this. They use something calledTableTab (I think was the name) where you conveniently order and pay through your phone. It was very easy to use. They are aneco friendly restaurant, using paper boxes for leftovers, paper straws and recyclable to go beverage containers. Truly a 5 starexperience in my opinion.
