I?ve never had a bad experience with Hooks until yesterday. I spent $14.22 on mushy grilled chicken and fried okra that looked... suspect on the bottom. I?m not sure if it was butter I was tasting on the okra or what. I look at the environment and noticemany young people who help run the business/cooking the food. I was highly disappointed considering I hadn?t eaten all day and Ispent $14.22 just to throw it away. Will be my last time there for a while. Read more
The man that owns this bbq joint is a class act. They make a good plate of ribs and some real good pound cake.
If you are wondering if you should try Hook?s, I?m here encourage you to stop in. It?s hidden behind Zaxbys in a weird... area. Their employees are usually very friendly. You can dine in, get carry out or go through the drive thru. Their BBQ is thebest in the area. They have great fried okra and the rice is delicious. The portions are quite large and very satisfying. Theyhave Pepsi fountain drinks but you should try the sweet tea. Read more
We live almost 4 hours away and come here as often as we can. The service is always great. The ribs are our favorite and... reasonably priced for what you get. You know it's good bbq when it doesn't need sauce! Bonus: the ribs are even better the nextday, reheated in the air fryer. Yum! Read more
We ordered the half chicken and also a rib dinner. There was more than enough food! The okra was fried to perfection, just... wasn't much seasoning, just simple fried okra. The ribs were a little smaller than what you'd expect for spare ribs, and theflavor was just ok, nothing special! The service was great, the cashier was very courteous and polite. Didn't wait too long, weordered at the drive thru, and the food was brought out to us. NOTHING we ordered would make me say, " I have to go thereagain"! Read more
Best meal we had all week! I'm constantly on the hunt for good BBQ and this place has it. Everything was excellent and I... couldn't have been more satisfied. Even the rice was on point. Next time Ill ask for sauce on the side, it's darn good saucejust prefer to add as I go. Save room for the cake!!
