The Manager/Chef K.K is absolutely amazing. Not only did he cook my wife and I two of the best tasting steaks we?ve ever had, he... came out and checked on us. I?m happy he did, because the whole time I?m eating his steak, I?m wishing I could tell him howgreat it is. A great experience to say the least. This restaurant had a variety in the menu and had a vegetarian option for green curry so we decided to try it. Passing through... town we wanted something fast and simple and saw it had a good rating. We called it in and looked up directions when we rolledinto town. We were kind of surprised it was the restaurant at a local motel! The place seemed clean and staff was very nice. Itactually had a nice view of the mountains and had a bar. The green curry had fresh veggies and tofu too, which was a nicesurprise. For a restaurant that?s not specifically a Thai restaurant, it was pretty good. Recently moved to Trinidad. Came here for my birthday dinner, the food was so amazing all four of us didn?t have room for... dessert. By far the best restaurant in all of Southern Colorado. Not only is all of the food delicious, but it has amazing views of the... valleys and mountains right outside. They have a unique cuisine offering Asian, Indian, Mexican and American dishes. Thealcohol selection is also good. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable if you have any dietary restrictions. The chef wasamazing and came to our table twice during the meal to check on us. I would highly recommend this place to anyone in the area. Read more

This restaurant and bar is in a class of its own. In my humble opinion one of the best for 100's of miles in any direction. The... chef has created a striking menu full of amazing choices. We had Lamb Curry with a side of rice accompanied by Garlic Naan andwere totally satisfied with not only the large portion size but also with the great mixture of flavors we tasted in the curryitself. On another night I had the Lamb Chops, medium-rare, and laughed with joy after my first bite. Terrific.... The staffhere needs special recognition because they were kind, helpful, friendly, and dedicated to our every need. We sat at the bar andenjoyed wine with our meals, served carefully by the two servers who coincidentally were both named Ashlee! And every need foranother order of Naan, extra napkins, or for a used dish to be removed was quickly taken care of by one of the young men on thebusser crew. In the current restaurant market top employees like these, who have great service at heart, are in highdemand. Somehow the Sunset Bar & Grille has accomplished what might seem like a miracle because every member of their team wasgenuinely concerned with doing a great job at whatever part they played in our dinner service. At both meals that I have had thepleasure of experiencing here the friendly chef came to our table or seats at the bar to inquire about our satisfaction orconcerns with the food or service, a rarity in today's restaurant world and a wonderful touch. This restaurant will be my newspecial place for taking my family and friends when they visit me in the Raton area. WOW What a wonderful experience. Excellent service from all the staff. Not to mention the food was beyond delicious. The Chef... really impressed us all with such fast service and delicious dishes for a party of 25. The hostess was so kind and friendly aswell. They were closing at 9pm and they made the exception for us to dine in after that time without rushing us at all. Ourwaiter Sean made recommendations and and was just right attentive. The caramelized blueberry ice cream alone make this unassuming hotel restaurant worth a drive, but let me tell you everything... else! It was incredibly clean, as were the workers. The wine list was just right. I could find new things to try, and a triedand true choice. The service was so fast, I had hardly blinked and I had all my food. Only a wee complaint is that my soup & mymain course came out so close together that one cooled down while I enjoyed the other. The sauce for the naan had wonderful,flavorful notes of cilantro that kicked this starter up a flavor notch. The flavors of the yellow lentil soup were a deliciousbalance of creamy, nutty and hearty. I enjoyed it immensely. The chicken in the clay oven street tacos was tender anddelicate. The chef checked on everyone. I appreciated the pride he took in his work. If he keeps it up, I imagine he will soonbe too busy to check on everyone! AND DONT FORGET THE HOME MADE ICE CREAM! It's hard to find good food or a great atmosphere for a nice night out, here in Trinidad. This restaurant had both! The... atmosphere in the restaurant was upscale and new, not run down like most places in Trinidad are. The menu has a fairly goodvariety of choices for lunch or dinner. There are tables along the outer edge that have great window views of the mountains,and there are very nice booths located closer to the central section of the restaurant. We went to this restaurant twice whilewe were in town and we prefer booths, so we didn't get to enjoy the views, but we made due with a digital view from a cellphone. The service was friendly but not fast, we could tell they were probably understaffed for the business they are getting,which is very common in the industry right now. The food was cooked well and the chef made rounds asking each customer how theirmeal was. Really enjoyed this place. I hope it's still there next time I am in town! Read more
