Here's the deal with Gateway Lunts's Lobster Pound - it seems like an obvious tourist trappy type place and it probably is but... being a tourist I totally fell into it. The smokestack stuff or whatever out front chugging away and the colorful signs andstuff yeah ok you got me. I'm not a huge lobster guy in fact after eating the Lunts's lobster roll I'm maybe sorta done withlobster but in case you are I'd say Lunts's are small - maybe even tiny - and are pretty expensive and only come with a smallbag of chips and the "overflowing" lobster look is mostly because it's piled on a bed of secret hidden lettuce. It wasn't awfulor anything, the three star rating here isn't a 1 star so don't get me wrong. Also the backyard garden picnic table area waslovely and well maintained and a total surprise. So was re-learning how much I don't really like lobster. But that's just me. Dopeople have great memories of this place because they've been coming for years? I'm sure they do and sincerely good for them. They should keep going it feels like it has character and memories are worth more than having a perfect lobster roll. The staffwas great and friendly. That's my review. Read more

Family owned restraunt. We arrived 45 minutes before closing time as Google maps took us to a private residence. Found out that... it was the prior owner/mother of the owners. They didn't rush us at closing time. They were so friendly and helpful as this wasour first time eating a whole lobster. They took the time to tell us how to Crack the shells. They also told us some localplaces to go to see the sights without all the crowds. Food was great! And we left feeling like we couldn't eat another bite! Ifyou are in the area stop by and have some great food and conversation! Read more

The lobster rolls here were delicious. The people working here were also very nice and friendly. We ate outside and they have... nice picnic tables with lots to watch while you eat from the birds to planes to tourists to the outside pots steaming lobsterover wood fires. Read more

Got the hot lobster roll and a clam chowder. Clam chowder had a lot of clams, it was very herby but delicious. The lobster was... fresh, we went a little too early for them to have their steamed lobster dinner available though I think about 30 minutes laterwe saw someone order it successfully. Bathroom for takeout on the side, they have areas to sit on the side as well. Read more

The worst and most expensive lobster roll I have ever had. At $28, it's very overpriced. There was shredded lettuce between... the lobster meat and the bun. The lobster meat was nice, but there was no butter flavor. Very bland flavor overall. There aremuch better choices if you want a lobster roll. Read more

BEST SWEETEST Lobster we have ever had! Super friendly employees. You can choose to eat outside in the well manicured back yard ... & garden of the property or there is also inside seating. Prices were very reasonable. Can't wait till we can get back there. Read more

Don't get caught in a tourist trap in town! Go to Lunt's Gateway for great food and very friendly service. Very busy, because... they are that good! In and outside seating available. Peak around back define picnic tables, somewhat umbrellas, on the lawn andback. Two areas for inside seating as well. Lots of parking, but it does get busy. Reasonable prices, even when lobster priceswere high in all of the towns we went to. This place was at least half the cost, if not less. If you're taking the whole lobsterto go you may want to ask them to crack it. They will give you everything you need. Lobster roll was awesome, 1 and 3/4 lblobster was delicious, blueberry pie was very good. Side options include corn, potato salad, french fries or coleslaw. Read more
