Intimate setting with around 10 tables in the living room of an old house. Right at first look it seemed two crowded but once... sat and the waiters teamwork serving made it seem plenty spacious. Each table was full on a Friday evening, and the twowaiters and one bartender kept everything moving very smoothly. A well oiled machine. Service was as you would expect for theprice range. Didn't have to ask twice and things came quickly. The chefs nailed it as well. My wife just got a couple ofindividual items and I did the 5 course with wine pairings. It was great and we'll definitely try to snag some reservationsagain next time we're in the area. Read more

This place offers a cozy environment and amazing food. We went with a small group and between all of us, we tried almost... everything on the menu and everyone raved about how good it was. Come with a hearty appetite and choose either the five or sevencourse meal with the wine pairings. Everyone on staff was incredibly friendly and personable and also knowledgeable about thefood and drinks. Read more

This meal wasn't a typical dinner out, it was an experience!! I loved that the food was local and in-season and the menu... constantly changes. The wine pairings with the multi-course meal were impeccable. Pro-tip: if planning to share some of thetasting menu, I would recommend ordering the full size from the ala carte menu...more deliciousness to go around! Thank you fora wonderful meal! Read more

The Cook's House is a 5-star fine dining kind of establishment. The kind of place to take a significant other to celebrate an... anniversary or special occasion. There is very limited seating here, it's essentially just one room that fits about 28 people,so be sure to make reservations ahead of time. They say the dress code is "just clothes", but if you're dressed down your goingto feel slightly out of place. We opted for the 5 course meal with wine pairings. This included (in order) mushroom tea witholive oil, an amuse-bouche with goat butter olives, fresh bread and butter, asparagus soup, pasta, steak (or walleye), a figsalad, and an olive oil cake for dessert. They also brought out kettle corn and small bite lemon cookies at the end. Everythingwas spectacular, don't even bother asking if the food's good. The chefs cooked at Michelin star restaurants and trained underAndré Rochat. The food being exquisite is a given. Although, for the record, I thought the asparagus soup was thestandout. The wine pairings were all delicious and paired to the courses with intention. I'm not a wine connoisseur by anystretch, but I watched as the servers and bartenders here dutifully explained every pour to patrons with questions who knew whatthey were talking about. The price is pretty steep. For the two of us with 5 course meal, wine pairings, and tip, we were allin for about $300. It's a fancy French dining experience and it shows in every way, including the bill. But it goes with theterritory and if you want a truly memorable evening, then The Cook's House will give you all that and more. Read more
