My wife, daughter and I were visiting some of the craft beer venues in Grand Rapids over the weekend when we stopped at the... Jolly Pumpkin. They were very busy the night we were there and were told it would be a 20 minute wait to get a table so Iordered some beers at the bar. It wasn't long after we got the beers the hostess came by and took us to a table. Then we waitedand waited and watched as another group of people were seated and someone took their order. We then caught the hostess andmentioned we haven't been waited on yet. Apparently because we already had beers in our hands the waitstaff thought someone hadalready taken care of us. The hostess quickly offered us an order of fries on the house so we ordered some more beer. The waiterquickly came by and apologized for not getting to us and took our order. The hostess then brought our beers and we were goodwith that. Before long the waiter brought us another round of beers and we told him we already had what we ordered. So, ratherthan take them back they gave them to us on the house. We ordered two of their pizzas and found them to be very tasty plus thefries and dipping sauce was pretty good. So in the end, what started off a little rough, the crew at the Jolly Pumpkin made upfor any inconvenience and we were extremely pleased and would come back again. Read more

This location has a very cozy atmosphere, stopped here in October and it was beautiful with all of the fall colors. The beer and... pizza were delicious and the staff was friendly and attentive! Read more

It started good but went downhill from there. Once seated, we had to flag a server down after 20 minutes of no one coming over.... Other tables were being taken care of while we waited. Our waitress had a large table and we understand she was probablyslammed: As former servers we get it. The waitress was very nice and tried to make it up to us with curry chips. She took ourorder and was very accommodating to us but?many, many other tables were seated 30 minutes after we got there and they were fedand left. We waited 1.5 hours for our food which never came. The waitress said the kitchen lost a ticket and there was aningredient that had issues. No one explained it to us until we asked the waitress. The waitress said she could give us freedesserts. She tried to make it up. After waiting 1.5 hours for food we went to the manager and said we couldn?t wait any longer. The food finally came and was packed up for free. It was a very disappointing experience. We aren?t sure if it was the cooks, servers or management but they need to correct this. Read more

Food was very good. Portions are very generous , all entrees could easily be shared . The fries were cooked perfectly. The... sour ale was also good. The entire restaurant is in a nice secluded area by itself so Read more

Everything was excellent from the food, service, drinks, and the ambiance of sitting outside. We had a group of 10 and we shared... and taste tested every ones food and everything was absolutely delicious. The parmesan crusted whitefish was outstanding and thesauce, I don?t know what it was, was amazing. Our group also had the meat board and nachos for appetizers and that was delicioustoo. And no complaints on the drinks either lol. Plus it looked like they may have been working shorthanded but the guy helpingus (possible owner or manager) was hustling and getting things done. Overall a great restaurant and a must stop if you?re in thearea. Read more

I am not one to normally leave reviews but I felt that my girlfriend and I?s experience here warranted one. We went out to eat... for lunch at the Jolly Pumpkin in late May of 2022. It?s a beautiful restaurant and the food and beer was quite good. However, our low review is for the service, not the food. Our server was just sub par. She messed up our beer order which wasn?t a hugedeal but she did fraudulently change what we had tipped her on our receipt. We tipped with cash and made sure to draw a linethrough the ?Tip? portion of both copies of the receipt. We later found that an extra $4 had been taken out of the account andadded to the tip. We spoke with the manager on the phone who was understanding and helpful. He found the receipt and saw that anamount had been written over the line that we crossed through on the tip portion of the receipt. He apologized and refunded usthe money. However, this is fraud and I do feel that it is important to note. It?s unfortunate that this happened and goes toshow how important it is to hire good and honest staff, as they can make or break an experience at a restaurant. Read more

Great food in a great location make this a place worth seeking out when in the Traverse City area. This outpost of the Jolly... Pumpkin is located on Old Mission Peninsula near the beautiful shores of West Grand Traverse Bay. While the restaurant is notsituated with views of the water, the property is gorgeous and there is a very nice outdoor space for dining and drinking. Manybeers are available on tap, including Jolly Pumpkin's own brews as well as brews from other producers. The food is excellent. The menu is classic American, but very well-executed. On a recent visit, we had the Cherry Pecan salad, a mushroom pizza, and afried perch sandwich. All were fresh and full of flavor. It takes a bit of effort to get there from downtown Traverse City, butthe journey along Peninsula Drive is beautiful any time of year. Jolly Pumpkin is worth a visit! Read more

Amazing food and the friendliest waitress! They even serve local wine and their own handcrafted beer! The building was beautiful... and I got to walk upstairs and see/read about the buildings history. With mentions of a ghost in the building I was superexcited. Sadly no ghostly experiences only a lovely evening with my family. Read more
