Great atmosphere with SOME GLUTEN FREE MENU OPTIONS IN TRAVERSE CITY. The offer great drinks (hot and cold), along with some... limited gluten free menu items. Excellent! I ordered online for pick up and to-go. I showed up a little early with my yeti in tow so they could brew my coffee... in that. I got the Damascus Gate to drink and to eat the breakfast pita, vegan donut, and peanut butter tahini cookie. The staffwere friendly and found my order right away. They started me with my baked goods while I waited for the rest then brought it outto me. The coffee drink was superb! Seriously the best I?ve had in ages. Highly recommend if you like anything similar to achai latte. I did add an extra espresso shot to mine. The chipotle sauce on the breakfast pita was smokey and just a touchspicy (perfect for breakfast food, I don?t like really spicy first thing in the morning). The vegan donut I got was cinnamonsugar - perfect finish after that breakfast pita. Lastly, don?t tell your grandma but these peanut butter cookies far surpassanything she?s made you. Nice crisp outside and soft inside. The balance of flavors is perfect. One was not enough. Absolutely fantastic experience. I don't think I've ever had better coconut curry fried rice. The breakfast pita was delicious... and the eggs were perfectly cooked. The coffee was excellent as well. Right when you walk in you'll notice the open kitchen soif you sit inside you can see the food being made which is a nice little treat. Or you can sit outside and enjoy the quietlittle veranda. We had been having a bad experience with Traverse City and it's eateries until we went to Hexenbelle for breakfast. Everything... was delicious and we tried many things! All the food is vegetarian and absolutely scrumptious. The coffee is made to perfection!I had the Damascus gate and it was wonderful. The pictures on the site are true to what's prepared. The staff were friendly, butnot overbearing. Helpful in making selections. I asked if they had fava beans in some of their offers and they were helpful inletting me know what to avoid. I?m convinced this is one of only two places in TC that know how to properly pull an espresso shot. I stopped in at 2:50 on a... Saturday (they closed at 3pm) and was greeted cheerfully. I ordered 2 iced lattes to go and both people working were sofriendly which was a relief so close to closing time. I love that they serve the iced lattes to go in a glass jar because I cantake one for another day since I don?t live close by.
