We'd heard great things about this place. To be honest, I was skeptical...I travel a lot and don't find restaurants housed... within a hotel to typically be very good. Boy is this an exception! Truly 5 star worthy experience! Nice ambiance and vibe. Many tables with Bay views. Service and staff were excellent all the way around. We didn't have a bad bite or anything weconsidered mediocre...it was all delicious. Extensive wine list with some nice bottles at reasonable prices. We had ShrimpCocktail and the Whitefish Chowder....both great. The chowder is a thinner version, not as thick and creamy, but very tasty andNOT filling! They had a duck special that we had, as well as the Salmon...both were outstanding. We finished off the meal withthe 'fluffy cheesecake'...damn was it good! And while all of that was great stuff, the Bread they served may have actually beenthe best part...simply delightful! We'll be back! Read more

Artisan Restaurant in Traverse City has a great menu that is well marked for those with various dietary restrictions and... interests. Waitstaff at this white tablecloth restaurant is engaging and informative without being pushy. Food delicious andserved beautifully. Great view of Traverse Bay. Even with a lot of diners, the dining room is not very noisy. Read more

Impeccable service and dining experience. They are always so accommodating for locals which is so nice. From start to finish the... knowledgeable waitstaff was great and frequently checked in on us. They even served my dad, whose birthday we were celebrating, his Budweiser in a champagne ice bucket. The cauliflower starter was fantastic. Everyone loved their meals. I had the salmonwhich was cooked perfectly The drink selection and cocktails were also amazing. I had the desperado which was both delicious andrefreshing. Highly recommend stopping by. Read more

I did this place for restaurant week and it was my least favorite. Honest review here. The place was too dim. None of the items... really blew me away except the cheesecake which was great but it wasn't really fluffy, more like a pudding. It did hit the spotthough! The server was amazing and knew his stuff but I wish he told us the water he brought would cost us $6. It was greatwater though! We got the cheese board as something extra and I still don't get the point of cheese boards! Overall, it wasgood. The reason for the 3 stars has more to do with how it compared with the two other restaurants that I did for restaurantweek. But my friend had other items which looked better than what I had so maybe his experience was better. I do want to trythis place again and give it another chance! Read more

To say that we had a wonderful dining experience at Artisan in Delamar Traverse City is an understatement. For nearly a year, we... have been looking forward to trying the new and highly-anticipated restaurant that was slated to open in what was formerly theHoliday Inn West Bay. On an occasion of drinks in late winter 2021, my husband and I were invited to preview thestill-under-construction space where the general manager gave us details of the restaurant?s layout and the features that wouldsoon be completed. Finally, after several months of Artisan being open, we made a reservation to celebrate an early Valentine?sDay, and I can say with certainty that the restaurant more than met our expectations. First, I want to say that a welcomingambience and warm atmosphere is high on my list of must-haves in high-end dining?just below food quality and creativity. Fromthe moment we passed beneath the glowing chandelier in the foyer, I could tell I would be in a place of true comfort whileeating at Artisan. The overall design of the restaurant pulls you in while you enter, particularly the lighting and colorchoices. From the entryway, you can see a gorgeous bar, several varying styles of seating, and a beautiful fireplace withconversational couches. We were taken to the second dining room, one that during the day would feature a beautiful view of thebay. Though it is separated by a wall, from our table, we could see through the glass partition and into the bar, which made thespace feel larger. In the summer, the restaurant also has outdoor patio seating and an open concept from that second, beautifulroom. Beyond the service?which was superb in attentiveness and warmth?we enjoyed a truly delicious dinner. Our menu had a largesection of Valentine?s Day options with entrees that would satisfy any palate. I almost chose the gnocchi, but opted for theScottish salmon from the regular menu while my husband chose the filet from the holiday features. After a shared Caes Read more
