Kengo Sushi in Tracy, California has good food, but poor service. The dinner entrées were actually good sizes and very tasty.... However, the server we had seemed to be having a bad day and taking it out on the diners. Our server slammed the dishes on thetable each time. A table next to us complained about the server's behavior. We had a party of 5. My mom tipped well, but theserver snatched the credit card receipt off the table without saying thank you or goodbye. ABSOLUTELY worth every penny spent! We had the most flavorful Sushi here!!! BEST EVER!!! I wasn't a fan of the assorted fish... bowl and greens but the top notch sushi keeps Kengo a 5 star restaurant for me. Our waiter forgot our edamame and didn't fillour waters so there could be some improvements. But overall a good experience where we'll come back for more. Read more
I had a decent experience at Kengo Sushi. The food was delicious, service was good, only thing that was concerning is that the... place didn't seem too clean. Table we sat at still had somw crumbs, napkins had a food stain on them, menu's were greasy,overall it just seems like they could do a better job when cleaning up their tables after they have been used. A bit pricey. But the quality is there! I especially loved the salmon. But the Mackerel and Yellowtail were good too! The green... tea wasn't brewed at the right temperature, so that was a bust. But it was so cute how they brought it out in a tiny teapot. Thepresentation was good. The service is very fast, but my waiter wasn't very friendly. Kept looking at me with big eyes but didn'tsmile? I know smiling isn't required but it felt weird because they didn't talk. The part that really made me take a star awaywas at the end, I was only there 30 minutes (half the restaurant was empty) when she came to take my plate I was going to askfor dessert, but before I could say anything, she just put my check on the table and walked away. Mind you! I hadn't said morethan my order to this person. And I was completely silent while I ate! ???? Idk maybe they were having a bad day, but I camehere to treat myself. Highly recommend their sashimi!!! The best one in Tracy!!! Love their sashimi and rolls but not so much for their tempura! The... fish is super fresh! The rolls are nicely made!!! I am debating whether I should give 4 or 5 stars (in my opinion, it should be4.5, which is more accurate). Their service is really good and fast (When I get there around the estimate pick-up time, the foodis ready to go), so I gave it a 5-stars given that the staff were also friendly and they gave me a lot of ginger and wasabi(Some restaurants require extra pay for these). I will definitely come back for their sashimi, sushi and rolls!!! Read more
I love kengo sushi but they need to be better about their miso soups. Either put them in a different bag or something. Every... time I get home a soup has slipped out and spills all over my other food. Very disappointing. Also I?m not sure why but latelythey only give one little container of ginger and wasabi and always order over $100 worth in sushi and food. Read more
