Interactive dining experience with Japanese cuisine. Many different options to choose from while it is made right in front of... you. This was a neat experience and the food was delicious. Would definitely go back. Reserve your spot ahead of time. Read more

A great way to get a dinner and a show. We did the teppanyaki table and had a really great time. I got the NY sirloin with... garlic butter and it was fantastic. The veggies and fried rice they give you is also really good along with the miso starter.Highly recommend for someone looking for more than just a meal. Read more

I've had the opportunity to dine here twice now. Once at the hibachi table, and once a la carte. Our hibachi experience was... great. Very benihanna "esque". More experience, less entertainment. Good was great, a bit pricey but definitely worth it asthe food was amazing. Our a la carte experience was also amazing. We had a bit of a mishap with one of our soups as we wish wewere told it was a beef/pork broth. This is important information, and needs to be shared with customers. I had alreadyconsumed half of it before thinking to ask. They replaced it immediately with a miso soup. Udon bowl was amazing with veggies, and will definitely order again. The sushi here is as expected with a Japanese restaurant, fresh, tasty and delicious. Read more

We had a wonderful time at Yamato?s. They were able to squeeze us in as a walk in. The service was attentive, the food pretty... good, but the tappanyaki is the real reason to go here. Though the restaurant is located in yorkville and costly, this isdefinitely not a high dining experience. Other patrons were in jogging pants, the restaurant can get loud and rough and the foodis basic (and yummy). Read more

Experience very good. Food I?ll say not that special but the process of cooking is extremely interesting. Excellent place for... most events and family. A little bit noisy. Maybe not a good place for proposal. Read more

Nice Japanese restaurant, price and portion are reasonable, great staffs, comfortable environment and good vibes. Tapanyaki chef... is entertaining, but??.the food just tooooooooo salty!!! Expect this, overall is fine. By the way, reserve $10-15 extra forparking. It?s not easy to get a street parking spot, depends on your luck ???? Read more

Not only is the food amazing, but the service is top notch too. Everything I ordered was perfectly balanced, and the meal was... worth every penny. I ordered the teppanyaki scallop, and toro and uni nigiri, as well as green tea and warm sake, and it was theperfect lunch treat. These chefs know what they're doing! Read more

I had a great time with my partner at Yamato. We went for the teppanyaki. The service was exceptional and the food was... delicious! I really love that they have a teppanyaki chef cooking the meal right in front of you. Our chef was super funny, too.We got the beef, chicken and shrimp combo. The meat are fresh, sauce was on a little saltier side but it is acceptable. You haveto order the fried rice, it's my favourite dish of the night, I can't get enough of it! Their sushi are fresh, too. You can alsotry out their beef and chicken skewers. We ordered the egg custard for dessert, it was delicious. Overall I like the food andvibe, will be coming back again! Make sure you call to RSVP before you go. Read more
