Reviews for Trattoria Mercatto in Toronto, ON
We all got our dinner at the same time, but our desserts were mostly seperate. The pizza portion is pretty big and definitely... not for one person but the pasta is doable. Still yummy and good atmosphere. Read more
Tried two pizzas, truffle fries and the brisket sandwich. I'm not sure why I ordered a brisket sandwich from an Italian... restaurant, so the very, very dry sandwich is on me. Don't order a sandwich from here. The pizza was good. Very thin chewy crustand very yummy topping combinations. Though, they didn't put very much of the toppings and the crust got very soggy after about5 minutes. Eat it as fast as you can for the best experience. The truffle fries were also quite good. The service was alsofriendly and helpful. Overall it was a positive visit but I probably won't return. Read more
A line formed outside their doorway as folks were looking for lunch. Many people were looking for a decent place for business... meetings, I'm sure. As the 2-level space is bright, airy and inviting. In the summer, they also have an outdoor patio. My friendand I were the first in line. When the doors opened at noon, we were seated by a lovely hostess who took our request to sit awayfrom others to heart. Our server was attentive and helpful. He answered our questions, made great recommendations and kept oursmall glasses of water topped up throughout our time there. We ordered the Wild Boar Gnocchi and Mushroom Pizza. Both were fresh- the gnocchi was one of their few in-house made pastas - and flavourful. Read more
Service is great but the pasta left a lot to be desired. I ordered the Ricotta Agnolotti and the scallops were like tiny canned... scallops you'd get from the super market and the portions for the pasta was so small. Also the size/quality of each Agnolottiwasn't very consistent either. My partner got the Lasagna and many parts of it was hard/burnt which wouldn't be so bad if theportions were larger and there was enough soft pasta to offset it. Maybe we ordered the wrong dishes but those definitelydidn't satisfy my pasta cravings. Read more
The atmosphere was very good. Restaurant was elegant and beautiful. The service was also nice and pretty fast. The food was... decent. Not bad, but nothing outstanding. The pizza was very soft in the middle to the point where the toppings were slippingoff. Also, it was a little bit pricey. Overall, a pretty good place to stop by when visiting Eaton centre. Read more
Very nice and comfy place with very friendly staff. Loved the place and the food. Their lasagna is the best I've had. The pasta... is so fresh and the lasagna is so natural tasteful. The other options are great too, even the salad! And they have aninteresting variety of beers. Read more

One of my favorite spots in Toronto! Been here multiple times throughout the years, and both the food and service have been... consistently great. This time we ordered: 1. Calamari - most tender calamari I've ever had. Sauce was unique and flavorfultoo. 2. Apollo alla Diavola - best sh*t ever!!!The chicken is so crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Flavor is spoton with enough heat that’s perfectly paired with the creamy fregola. 3. Lasagna - different from your traditional lasagna asit is 24 layers of pasta served vertically and is separated from the meat sauce instead of layered. Although it is creative, Ihave to say that I prefer the traditional lasagna. The meat sauce also lacks some flavor and the lasagna is not really cheesy.Overall, this dish was not as impressive as their other pasta dishes I’ve had. 4. Lemon Olive Oil Cake - perfect way to endthe meal! The lemon flavor was sour and refreshing. Read more
